In my most honest opinion, I saw the 'Cosmic Wars' episode a few nights ago and I didn't think it was funny at all. It was just utter crap, I thought. The older episodes (right up to '98) I still adore though. Now, it just tries to be like Family Guy and fails miserably at it. Just my viewpoint though. Then stop watching it.

I know they are, I just wish they would have kept going. Right now I'm worried the new Futurama will be like the new Family Guy. Utterly repetitive and full of itself. I hope they don't skip a beat. But then again, Futurama isn't done by Seth MacFarlane. I read on IGN that they're brought back EVERYONE who originally wored on Futurama. So we WON'T have Hypnotoad and the orphan robot appearing in every 3 episodes doing the exact same gags for a full minute.

I still like it, although I didn't think the episode about Bart dropping the pop fly during his little league game was funny at all. Funny how when they tried to replay that game, the batter hit the ball right to him every single time.

Does Homer still work at the Power Plant? I haven't watched any Simpsons in the last 2 or 3 seasons so I have no idea, do they still do the "Homer Wacky Job of the week" type of thing? He does, but it seems he gets fired every week and has his job again with no explanation.

If you compare "New Simpsons" to "Old Simpsons" it sucks. If you compare "New Simpsons" to other cartoons like Clone High, Undergrads, Mission Hill, 3 South, Old Family Guy, Futurama and South Park it still sucks. If you leave "New Simpsons" on it's own it still sucks. Though it seems the quality in most T.V. Shows has declined but that's still not an excuse. Of course this is all just my opinion

Just a prediction: The Simpsons will never die. Even after all of the original writers have given up on it, there will be other writers more than happy to take it on. I told my friend this, and I say it again: The simpsons will end when one of the voices of the main characters can no longer voice.

I've only seen a clip of the "Cosmic Wars" episode, but I thought it was very funny.

Simpsons has been unfunny for two seasons, as far as plot, terrible for at least six seasons, and hasn't been the show it used to be for at least ten. It should have ended ages ago, and the film was over a decade too late. The Simpsons isn't so much still alive as a show, as it is a show that has died twice and been resurrected as a zombie like Solomon Grundy in that episode of JLU - flailing about, mindlessly, looking like its former self but with only the very core (the creators/producers) still intact.

It's still better then most of the shows on tv, and theres always something in every episode that makes me crack up or i'll be quoting it for the rest of the week.

its all about money. as long as they have sponsors and millions of viewers, its not going anywhere. i think its embarassing compared to how good it once was, but millions of people still enjoy it.
i've actually became a big family guy fan over the last year or so. i didnt watch any of it until i rented the dvd's last year and that show was amazing, IMO. but the last season or 2 have been horrendous.
seeing shows become bad as quickly as they do makes me appreciate Seinfeld. Fans were upset, but Jerry knew that he wanted to end the show before it became a shell of what it used to be and i respect that. I wish more shows would use that idea, but in the end money talks and you know the rest

I think Season 18 was getting back on the right track. There was some quality episodes in there.
Even the really bad episodes usually have some funny bits in them, I say keep on going.

I can't wait for the 4 Futurama films. They're being split into 4 episodes each which are what's going on Comedy Central, and the films are released on DVD which I'll get the day they're out if possible. Hopefully they'll do great and get a full new series(or more) commisoned. Futurama is better than The Simpsons and Family Guy in every single way. Because it was canceled before it had the chance to go stale... I still love Robot Hell with the Beastie Boys and the episode where a civilization grows on Bender's body The Bender as the universe one is great :Hold on Malichi,jr. I can't my arms are tired from all the huging

just like ric flair its the better than 90% of whats on today. besides they are only going to do two more seasons. 20 and that is all.
i will say this, the plot are put out there early in the episode and then homer does some whack job sh!t, for laughs for 10 minutes then they get back to the plot.
or they have a guest star every episode.....

I wish more shows would use that idea, but in the end money talks and you know the rest Come to Britain where most people end their own shows after a couple of seasons and maybe a special, or have very short seasons so that quality control is high.
