About once a year I plan an OZ marathon when I watch all 6 seasons in a row. I remember waiting each and every year for a new season to come out, and since there was only 8 episodes per season, you could easily finish a season in 2 days tops. I almost felt like I was in prison myself counting down the days to the new release.
Side note: I marked like crazy when Beecher got his revenge on Schillinger during the first season. Seeing them two go at it time and time again over the course of 6 years was amazing. You really get an idea on how prison can change you (Beecher)
Without risking spoilers...it's a shame how botched season 6 was. Too many people died just for the sake of saying "we killed him" but the ending was pretty cool, and probably the best way to end a series like this.
Still...one has to ask...if OZ was an experiment to see how immates react, why didn't they can it after endless years of them killing each other off? It wasn't helping them one bit, it was only giving them more freedom to run amok!

It wasn't as if ANYONE was actually behaving themselves in Emerald City.

Absolutely great show.
Beecher's evolution and seeming Sisyphean ordeals were the stuff of legend. His relations with Said and Keller were excellent.
Schillinger, the most effective heel ever in the business
Adebisi just for his, well Adebisiness. Everytime I see him in a movie, I hum the theme a little. (Was awkward when I saw the Mummy Returns)
And the best thing about the show, no charachter was ever for certain. Anyone could die at any time for absolutely no reason. It was a thing of beauty.
Who would have thought a show could make you yell "NO!" at the screen when a rapist/arsonist/murderer was shanked.

Awesome show. Just recently watched series 1 + 2 again over a couple of days as just got them back after having lent them out for like 3 years. And subsequently, just ordered Season 3. I know its just a matter of time before I get them all. What a great show. The gritty realism was compromised in some of the later episodes with some of the overly fantastical and just plain silly storylines and i thought the last episode was a jumbled mess, but it can be forgiven for that. Such great characters and tour de force acting. My favourite character's gotta be the dastardly Simon Adebisi, the alpha male of Em City!

It was great until they started killing off the "big" characters. Then the story went downhill.

I think my favorite character was Robson.
That guy was so evil looking that I loved every bad thing that ever happened to him. Even getting the tip of his dick bitten off, and having a spoon shoved up his ass.
I couldn't stand the Ryan/Cyril relationship. It was like Eugene went to jail.

I just found it funny that the crazed Nazi leader is the same guy that plays the calm police psychiatrist on Law and Order.
