Seriously, what's not to love about the 80s? Pop music in the 80s was INCREDIBLE, no question. There's no comparison to the 00s' terrible pop output. Cartoons? Thundercats, Transformers, the Mysterious Cities of Gold, Gadget, Danger Mouse...today doesn't come close. For just awesomely cool films, how can you touch the 80s? Labyrinth, Dark Crytsal, Back to the Future, Ferris Bueller, Weird Science. Films like them just aint made any more.
On another note, CGI has ruined cinema. It was the imperfections that made films so great. That is all...

I like both alot to be honest, but the 80's seemed better. The territories were still going, glam rock was in(which I love), and there were tons of lame sitcoms for me to enjoy. I wouldn't be able to leave the tv actually. I think I would do just about anything to have been able to experience the 80s as a teen or older.
Fortunately, I experienced a decent bit of the 90s. Though I wouldn't mind to go back and see the monday night wars again. It bothers me to this day that I missed seeing guys like Parka, Villanos, and El Dandy in person.

The 80's were a golden age that will never come again. The 90's (in retrospect) were pretty damn good too. Since the 21st Century dawned, it's pretty much been pretty blah.
Where are our hovercars? Talking robots and laser swords complete with midichlorians and evil empire to combat?
Hunh? Where is it?

Where are our hovercars? Talking robots and laser swords complete with midichlorians and evil empire to combat? Hunh? Where is it? They were only myths, rooted in unconscious, inaccurate, irrational and illogical blunders, emerging as delusions. Same goes with the giant robot fantasies too. Sorry to burst your bubble.

it's funny to think we are only 8 years away from how they envisioned the future in back to the future 2. also the jetsons was set in the year 2000 and we aren't any where near that. lol
