I've been friends with a woman I met online for 6 years or so, we get along reat and care about each other, and might meet by year's end. She's a few years older and I think after you cut all the bullshit, ideally you just need someone you wanna be with and care about

Nothing wrong with them and can be fun diversion as long as you keep a certain level of distance, as sometimes the lines between reality and fantasy can blur. Dont make any commitments with someone you havent met yet though, even if their personality is great, attractions are still important.

*trying not to make fun of it* Then why post here at all? Seriously, if you find someone that you like and they feel the same way, you can't help how you feel. Just do whatever you want and don't worry about what other people think. If you really love a person, something like the distance between the two of you shouldn't matter all that much in the long run. Physical contact is not the most important thing in a relationship.

Yeah, one or two or a few. I never took em very seriously, though, so it's all cool. Plus, I was like 14.
I met this one chick on a Matchmaking site, turns out she was engaged, we carried on anyway for like 2 years or so. We're still friend and she's not engaged anymore, which isn't all my fault.

The internet is not a good place for romance. I've been heartbroken three times.
Only use the internet as the last resort or through an official, certifiable dating website with good recommendations.

Keeping things exclusively as online is a strain, I think. It's only a partial relationship, the communication is there, sharing of thoughts/feelings/experiences/whatever, a bond can be built and develop, but until you can look directly into the person's eyes and reach out and touch them its... incomplete.

I had one when I was fifteen. She was really nice and bought me TONS of crap from online stores.
And then I blocked her and never talked to her again.
Still have the stuff.
Yep, don't trust people online. All they want is your money...or some want love, yeah. I guess.
She got internet clingy after a while and trying to buy my love - didn't work.

I guess I'm the odd man out because I have met all of mine in person, and not online.

I've met people online, but I've never carried on a relationship with somebody I've never seen in person. Those just seem odd to me.
