What's your favourite? Personally, although Alan Scott (the Golden Age Green Lantern) is my favourite hero, I believe that the single greatest costume of them all is Gil Kane's design for the Silver Age Lantern Hal Jordan. Clean lines, simple mask... it's beautiful.

Batman after the Silver Ages has rarely done us wrong.
Captain America and Spiderman are great.
Venom looks nice.
Green Lantern is indeed usually awesomeness.
Most incarnations of Deadpool are very nice, as well as Deathstroke, his obvious and admitted inspiration.

Shaft was a superhero?! And I go with Kamen Rider Kabuto. I dig bug based costumes.

I just found this... put this in the 'worst' pile Unnecessary pouches? Check. Bad Hair? Check. Stupid Weapon? Check. Flared Boots? Check. Half mask kinda thing? Check. Shoulder pads? Check... there's only one, but that's one too many. Shatterstar... you represent all that is evil about 90s comics.

I aim one day to work in comic book production, just so I can get whoever I work for to hire Liefeld for something... anything... a doodle, his signature, anything. I'd even pay for it to happen. Then, I'd punch him in his face and make him eat an issue of X-Force.

"Miss Smith... get me Rob Liefeld... I feel the sudden impulse to punch him in the nose" I just picture the sound of jingling change from all of those pouches.

Most of those pouches contain other pouches... fact. I mean, Batman has stuff to put in the pouches. I can accept him, or Robin, even someone like Deadpool with them, for various gear. But why the hell would most of these guys have them?

Best costumes:
Spider-Man classic. Both simple and intricate in its design, it is bright without ever looking corny.
Captain America - There's just something so well-done about how this costume comes together that you forget he has a giant A on his forehead, and wings on the sides, both of which should by all rights relegate him the depths of silliness.
Daredevil - the classic red costume. No need for extras. It is what it is and it gets the point across. Simple, but elegant.

But why the hell would most of these guys have them? Ballast? Alternately, they have helium in them so that fruity looking guy in the red tunic can appear to swing out of nowhere on his rope attached to nothing? It's a game, and one of them contains the shirt that Cable SHOULD be wearing underneath his redundant H-shaped ensemble? And the others contain scorpions? Change, as you said? For their laundry, and to get their pouches and shoulderpads drycleaned? Rubbing ointment, for their perculiarly bulging calves and their feet that resemble 19th-century Chinese women's bound up trotters?

Gravely ill. Make-a-Wish Foundation level ill. Could you fix it for me to put Rob Liefeld in a gigantic pouch, just to see how he likes it?

Dammit, I actually like Liefeld.
Hills that pop up to obscure feet and all.
