7. The overall dumbing down of America. Wouldnt say America got dumber. I mean atleast people arent rushing out and rioting to buy stupid pointless things like Furbys and Tickle Me Elmos these days... It wasn't really a call on the people. What I meant was the things that are marketed to us in terms of media. Or how the news is designed to shock you into watching without giving you any actual information about issues like what your government is doing. The fact that we are at war and the headlines are dominated by Paris hilton's DUI and some football player fighting dogs is a disgrace.

Even though the 90s were cool, 21st Century > 20th Centurary. Lot more cool stuff and the majority of people aint nearly as ignorant and stupid as they was in the 20th Century... Holy crap! I damned near pissed myself laughing at that one. Any America where the majority of people think they can treat someone different because the color of someones skin, and ACTUALLY do it, is a stupid, ignorant America. Way worse then what goes on today. How the majority of America could even consider that stuff, much less do it, seriously just drives me crazy thinking about it...

Oh, I get it, you're trolling me, right? I won't bite. Nice try though. If you AREN'T trolling me. . . you need to get your head out of the sand and pay attention to your surroundings.

Warning: Some of my reasons are political in nature. Reader discretion is advised. If deemed inappropriate, mods please delete. For those interested in my reasons, feel free to PM for deeper explanation.
In no order
1. The denial of homosexuals the right to marriage.
2. The war in Iraq. Made me miserable since day 1.
3. The deportation of Mexican immigrants and near racist attitudes from a majority of people.
4. Racial hatred and hate crimes towards Americans of Middle Eastern descent.
5. The mishandling of the past two elections.
6. The lack of focus on finding and capturing Osama bin Laden, and how this murderer has been lost in the shuffle of the Iraq war.
7. The lack of response by the federal government to the poor and impoverished people who lost everything in Hurricane Katrina.

7 reasons? Here are seven, just off the top of my head:
1) Too many professional wrestlers are dying (and I'm only thinking about 2007 here).
2) The world's most powerful nations are governed by corrupt and/or moronic leaders, seemingly hell-bent on starting nuclear holocaust (and a good number of people and the so-called 'liberal media' are supporting them, too).
3) There are no more interesting music scenes going on anymore (Emo? Give me a break!)
4) TV has gone to hell (Whatever creativity reality tv may have had at one time has totally fizzled out by this point)
5) MySpace happened, and defined a generation. 'nuf said!
6) Videogames aren't nearly as interesting as they once were. Arcades are a thing of the past, and Nintendo is the only pure company left in the console scene as far as game platforms go (Sega is out of the hardware business). 2D Fighting games are passe (Hell, Sony doesn't event want developers to make 2D games for its console!).
7) There is a virtual monopoly in terms of wrestling in North America. WCW got bought out ECW folded, and Vince McMahon shat on the legacy of both federations.

Not in any particular order:
-The war in Iraq
- The rise of the Mp3 and the disinterest in albums.
- No cultrual movements with substance (Whats to gain from being emo?).
- The worshipping of false idols (see Hilton, Lohan, Richie).
- Loss and innocence. Though this probably has to do more with growing up than a current trend in society as the people I've known have resorted to drinking more frequently as we are of legal age to do so. Since I've chose not to, the majority of them have left me behind as I'm not "Fun to be around". Though maybe it is prevalent these days. I mean there seems to be more pressure to grow up soon and to experience some form of nihilsim because apparently that's what older people do.
- The rebirth of fear mongering.
- The cancellation of Grounded For Life (had to end with something that sounds humorous ;D)
