Can anybody recommend any wii games that are good. I was thinking about getting the Madden 08, but heard it was buggy and the controls were not that good. Also I'm thinking about getting Tiger Woods 08. Are those 2 games any good, and is there anything else worth checking out at the moment?

If you want Madden on Wii, get Madden 07. It may not have the updated rosters, but it IS the best version of Madden 07.
Other good-great-incredible games:
WarioWare: Smooth Moves Mario Party 8 Super Paper Mario Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Sonic & the Secret Rings Resident Evil 4 Rayman Ravin Rabbids Excite Truck Trauma Center: Second Opinion

Wii Play to that list, also, for an extra controller and some fun minigames.

Wii play isn't really worth it unless you want the controller. It is a good 20 minute distraction, then you don't play it anymore. Unless you play two player games against yourself(a wii mote in each hand).

Nah it still isn't, unless ya go ninja style, the shooting game with a remote in each hand is hectic. But Laser hockey, that is nuts.

Wait! What? How's it not worth it? When I bought it, it was the exact same thing as if I had bought a Wii-Mote seperatly. So it was like getting a game free!

Yeah I got Wii Play for $40, the cost of a Wiimote. It is $50 retail though. Shop around and you can get some good deals. (Check out the cheapassgamer.com forums for example).
No clue what kind of games you like, but here's what I own:
Kororinpa is good if you like marble games like Monkey Ball or Marble Madness. Super Paper Mario is good fun, but avoid it if you're one of those people who hated the style of humor/amount of dialog in Paper Mario 2. Zelda is Zelda. You should know by now if you like Zelda or not. Wario Ware Smooth Moves. Fun but too short. Probably like the 3rd or 4th best as far as Wario Ware games go.
Games I'm interested in that are coming out before the end of the year: Mercury Meltdown (another marble-ish game, $20) Zack & Wiki (Point and click adventure) Mario Galaxy (MARIO) Octomania (puzzle game from the creator of Puyo Pop) Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn (turn based strategy RPG) Godzilla Unleashed (3D fighter) Harvey Birdman (text adventure) Puzzle Quest (turn based bejeweled rpg) Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles (on-rail shooter) Link's Crossbow Training (comes with zapper add-on, budget priced) Trauma Center: New Blood (surgery game) Smash Bros. Brawl (online Smash Bros...) Nights: Journey of Dreams (sequel to Nights Into Dreams for Sega Saturn)
