I think Jamie Foxx is too up himself lately. He needs to remember this: Heeeyyyyyyy! Is he good? Yes. So good that he can carry Miami Vice? Clearly not, as the FDA is researching it as a cure for insomnia. And The Rock is way more entertaining. I'll be seeing Gameplan. Oh yes. And I'll laugh my butt off over it, too. I'd watch The Rock in anything. ANYTHING.

Consider this. The studio nearly decided to pull an IDIOCRACY. That is, dump it in 10 theatres and dump it on DVD. Basically Assisted Suicide. Instead, it was released in a few theatres, and despite the polarizing reviews (people either love it or pop some cyanide), its doing much better than expected, and on theatre-average, its doing good. Basically with these limited releases, such movies have to do a % amount of business in order for the studio to justify spending money on a nation-wide release. While Haggis' IN THE VALLEY OF ELAH hasn't and won't go nation-wide, EASTERN PROMISES did and thats why its nation-wide. With ACROSS THE UNIVERSE, its sorta both ways. Its not a hot ticket, but its making cash. If it continues its ways, then it'll be released nation-wide on a quicker pace. Interesting to note too, ELAH is $35 million in the hole. ACROSS THE UNIVERSE? $37 million. The latter has a shot of breaking even. F*** Paul Haggis. The thing is, I have seen so many advertisements for Across The Universe but there was never any advertisements for Idiocracy. Why would they advertise it so much if they don't decide to put it in many theaters. I said they seriously considered it at one point for ATU. Ultimately, they didn't go the IDIOCRACY route.
