Who? And what did you have it for?
I'm just wondering what it feels like knowing you're about to be cut open, and what you feel like after it's all done.
I've never had it myself, and it's one of those things I fear.
Anyway, just wondering.

I had my tonsils and adenoids removed. And tubes put in and taken out of my ears quite a few times when I was young.
I mean, I was nervous before hand because... well I was young. It's normal to be nervous.
For me afterwords... the worst feeling was being a bit queezy and all. Everything was kind of...weird... and it's hard to explain. It basicly felt like coming out of a drug induced coma.
I was kind of bad off for the weeks afterwords. Couldn't do much. When I threw up blood one night I actually started feeling better very quickly after that.

I've had eye surgery, and it wasn't that big of a deal. I've had minor colon surgery done, and that was the scary one. It really isn't that difficult. Just watch a movie right before they put you under (I watched The Lion king) the hardest part is the mental aspect.

I had steel plates put in my left forearm after I broke it 4 years ago. The pain was a dull aching annoyance, as the was overnight stay in the hospital, but other than that it was really nothing.

MGH has the Bionic Forearm, people! Don't f*** with him! Back on topic, I've had both my eyes operated on, to correct strabismus, or lazy eye. Of course, this was back in the day before they approved and perfected the simpler laser techniques that are used for this disorder. The muscles of my eyes were tangled, so they had to be manually cut and relocated onto their proper places inside my sockets. Thanks to that operation, and the 4 weeks of red eyes and bloody tears, I am very, very particular about my eyes, and I refuse to get contacts because of how sensitive they are.

LASIK eye surgery - fairly easy Wisdom teeth removal - not bad Surgical removal of a non-cancerous lipoma on my back - they gave me local to numb but it was weird feeling the vague sensation of sometihng being cut out of you.

I had Ingunial hernia when I was 6 or 7 years old.I wasn't nervous about as I was too young to grasp anything good or bad about it,I just wanted to get it over with. Once they start sedating you have nothing to fear but fear itself.

I had a cyst in my ear by the skull. they had to put me out and cut my ear off ala Reservoir Dogs so they could remove the cyst. Of course they had to cut away a small portion of my skull to get to it. It was hella awesome. I remember everything, well cept when I was out, when I woke up in the OR the doctor asked if I was ok. I gave him a double thumbs up and went "Cooooool" and then asked all the nurses if they wanted to go drinking. LOL me and my doc still joke about it and it's been 2 years.
I wasn't nervous at all. I just though about what Rodney Dangerfield said when he went in for his brain surgery. "If I die, how would I know?!?!" I had some pain afterwards and the left side of my head hurt for a year, only when you put pressure on it. I just felt it and I get dizzy when I push on it, wow that felt weird! But I'm cool. I still wrestle but don't get hit on that side. lol

I've had tonsils out and my broken arm re-adjusted. You don't feel shit. They dope you up so bad, they could perform sugery on you! The Simpsons scarred me though. Last time, when I went under, I made sure I didn't close my eyes before the shit put me out, just in case.

I've had several surgeries. Some are worse than others. The best thing you can do is have something to take your mind off it before you go under the knife.

First time I had surgery it was for an exotosis, which was an extra bone growing from the side of my leg. When they used anesthesia it felt like I was going from the front of my head to the back of it if that makes sense. Everything became blurry, and then I passed out. Really weird feeling. I also woke up throwing up from the anesthesia.
They also put me under when my wisdom teeth were taking out. I had an IV hooked up to my vein and I eventually just passed out.

I crushed my finger in a vise at work once. They completely reconstructed the top two knuckles of the finger, after deciding not to just cut it off. Was totally out for that for over 3 hours, spent the whole next day puking up the anesthetic.
Went in a month or so later to get the steel pins out, just numbed my arm, was awake for that. Not bad at all.

I've had surgery to correct my club feet. Once when I was about a year old, once when I was 10 and again when I was 12. I remember just being really sleepy and using crutches throughout middle school.

Tonsillectomy when I was younger.
In like 9th grade, I had Rhinoplasty and another procedure to fix my deviated septum. The worst part was that I had woken up in the middle of surgery (They already had my face all splayed open) and knocked out the catheter that was supposed to neutralize the blood in my stomach. After I had woken up, my whole face felt like it had been run over... And then I started puking the blood that wasn't neutralized in my stomach while my mom, who has a phobia about blood, freaked out while holding a bed pan under my face.
That recovery time sucked balls.

I had gastric bypass surgery in July. The worst part was simply trying to sleep that night. Not the night BEFORE the surgery, the night OF the surgery--it was just hard trying to find a comfortable position in that hospital bed, especially since I was feeling kind of nauseous.
The next night was better, though.

During a soccer game I fractured my ankle (compound) & didnt know it actually was at the time so I tried to stand on it and fell back down fast. I remember eating one of those hostess peanut butter wafer thingies and when I woke up I puked it back up on my shirt. Apparently your not supposed to eat before surgery and my body rejected it.
If this counts iv'e had my wisdom teeth removed.
I think both times they gased me up to knock me out.

i broke my elbow when i was eight, and basically, they cut my elbow open, took the bone out, washed it, put it back in with pins, then stitched me up. i basically slept that summer (broke it a day before my bros birthday in july), but whenever i bang my elbow against something now, i take advil instantly. cause it kills like a mofo.

I had my left ankle (off the Tibia) screwed back together after falling of a ladder at work. Swelling was so bad they had to wait a few days, so I was sent home. While at home my mom rented me Hannibal to watch. Well after watching Ray Liotta getting his brain exposed while being awake... I made them put me under for the operation. Yeah it's a little nerve racking, yeah your probably not going to be feeling great afterwards, but it's nothing to completely dread.
I was also awake for all 4 wisdoms(all in one visit), and a tumor on the back of my leg. It feels weird but not painful.
