I just don't have any controllers to check to see if it works , so I gotta wait until I get up to visit my friend. Anyway, it was $20 at a yard sale. The dude was strapped for cash and I just started working and deposited most of my cash into my checking account, so that was basically all I could swing. I got six games for it... Blitz the League, NCAA Football 2004, 2005 and 2006 , ESPN 2K5 and Flatout. Oh, and it's one of those Mountain Dew Limited Editions wiki says there were only around 5000 of them made... so I wondered if I could get some opinions on whether I should get my friend to mod it or if it's worth just selling it and finding another.

Cool. Good for you.
It's a great console. I can give you a great list of top tier games for it.
As for modding it, I say DO IT! The XBMC (Xbox Media Center) is an amazing mod that raises the utility of your Xbox exponentially. Check it out.

I recommend getting Gun, Star Wars:Knight of the Old Republic and the second one. I recommend more when I can think of them.

I recommend getting Gun, Star Wars:Knight of the Old Republic and the second one. I recommend more when I can think of them. Yeah, my friend and I used to play KOTOR and then the second one like mad when I'd visit. I'd always use the name Darth Soda. I'll definitely be checking out Gun and Jade Empire, as I've heard my friends mention those games being good... Morrowind as well. Oh, and I'll need to get the Halos, GTAs and Tony Hawks too as I love playing all of those. Does anyone know which of those sports games I should bother to keep? I imagine at the very least, I'll get rid of the 2004 and 2005 NCAA footballs for whatever small amount of credit Gamestop or fye will give me.

Flatout is great, certainly much better than its sequel which ended up being a poor man's Burnout clone with some nice physics.
With that said, get Burnout 3.
EDIT: oh, and Ninja Gaiden is a must-buy for the Xbox. Shenmue II, too.

The ONLY downside about the Xbox is it didn't have a Resident Evil game....
But more games for you to get:
Psychonauts, Oddworld: Munch's Odyssey, and Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath are MUST HAVE TITLES!

Fable: Lost Chapters, also. Avoid the wrestling games.

Just don't drop it in anyone's general direction, or they'll be really, really hurt.

You may want to play them before making up your mind. Also, the Splinter Cell series on XBox is pretty good as well. Nothing like sneaking around and taking part in subterfuge and espionage.

I walked to the yard sale which was a little over a mile from my house. Only I ended I getting confused on a few streets since some of them don't have street signs. (It's the side of town I don't really go to much since there's no shops or anything.) Luckily, I found a sign right nearby as the intersection didn't have a sign. So yeah... I carried the thing home over a mile. The guy was nice enough to stick it in a plastic bag for me... which I wasn't about to hold by the handles, since I knew it would rip. EDIT: I just plugged the thing in to see if it would power up (didn't even hook it up to the TV)... opened up the drive and Call of Duty: Finest Hour was inside, hehe.

Those Call of Duty games on the XBox are pretty sweet as well. As my friend Mattitude says, "Some days there's nothing wrong with killing a few nazis."

Rainbox Six 3 is a good game... anything from the Tom Clancy series is actually. Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell...
Madden 05 is the best Madden Football game I've played on it, with MVP Baseball 05 being the best baseball game I have.
Burnout 3 is a good game as well.
The wrestling games bite on the 'Box.

Dude, the Mountain Dew Xboxes might be worth some good money. Check eBay to see what they're running for and see if you can't turn it around to a profit. Then you could buy another Xbox and even more games.
As far as games are, a little game called Halo and Halo 2 were pretty good.
