I just had my wisdom teeth pulled today via shoot and pull not the put to sleep method and let me tell you after the anesthetic wore off im certain this is the most irritating pain ive ever experienced...and ive went through a completely fractured right arm, and having my appendix taken out...any other crappers have any bad experiences with their wisdom teeth?

Not with wisdom teeth but with one set of premolars. As a child No secondary teeth were coming through so dentist says you can have the old ones capped or wear a brace for a year to adjust the jawline (Hmmm lets think about that one real quick) So 16 odd years later the area under this old capped tooth gets infected, go to the dentist and he says I need to be on antibiotics for a week because if he operates he could hit a certain nerve below the tooth and paralyze one side of the face (another tough choice !) After 1 day it is agony so we call up and ask if there is anything we can do to help relieve the pain and the clinic then apologises for not prescribing some painkillers (I'm not having these guys as a life line on Who wants to be a Millionaire!) So we go back after a week and good old Sweeney the dentist has us in the chair ready to take out our potential dosh for the fairy. One injection goes in, ouch, two go in O.K. its his job, three go in , hang on i'm not a pin cushion, fourth one hits, i'm a bit concerened now, and another and BANG thats it.. I wake up who knows how long later looking up at Sweeney, the clinic manager and the other half at the time looking down at me. They wouldn't take responsibilty for the circumstances and so we went to the Quack to get checked out , he was just as much help stating that I be booked in for an ECG and to be on the safe side that we should not drive and until I got test results back Results came back and said we were 100% Funky Later found out from my Uncle (who is a senior dentist himself) that the amount of shots we had should have been able to take down an elephant. I brush those pearly whites whenever we can and no longer wear that Elephant costume

My last major dental surgery was having the rotten stump of a wisdom tooth and the molar next to it which had been split right down the middle and half of it was gone. Also on the same day, I had some old tooth roots taken out, all next to each other and on the same day. I went pretty easy, having teeth extracted never bothered me much, alot easier then having someone do sloppy fillings on you, like this one idiot who got pissed at me because he couldn't numb a molar after 5 shots and he started complaining to me because I told him I stilll felt it One of my molars broke off at the base and the gumline closed over years ago. The dentist had to use a scapel and cut the gumline open then pull out the tooth roots. After it was over it didn't become painful until after the novicane wore off. But an Exedrin knocked it out real quick, so it was only hurting for about an hour. After the surgery I went out to the parking lot and spit the biggest bloodiest goober ever It took about 2 hours for the bleeding to stop. Also after the teeth were extracted they filled in the holes with some type of compound that would enable false teeth to be inserted at a later date. Overall they did a good job for $3000. Im glad they did away with metal fillings and replaced them with these new hard plastic fillings. I don't know the chemical compounds name, but they don't transfer heat or cold like metal Nothing the dentists ever did hurt like the time I bit down on a rock hard Fruit Loop and it split the molar completely in half right down into the gumline, I drank salt water for about an hour and that helped stop the pain.

I'm pretty sure i've told this story before but I coulda died after I got mine removed back in '04. My sutures came out and covering it with cotton wasnt stopping the blood. I literally had mouthfuls of blood coming out of my mouth every half a minute and I'm pretty sure I passed out from lack of blood. My bathroom looked like a crime scene with all the blood spilled on the floor. This was a few days before my b-day no less.

I had all 4 done at the same time while awake also. My lowers we're almost horizontal, partially erupted, and had cavities. They cut away allot of the gums, and a bit of bone to get them out. The uppers weren't as bad, just partially erupted and a cavity. The girl with the suction tool, actually sucked out one of the uppers while sucking up the blood (yeah, sucking is a medical term).
I was tad sore after due to the amount of work on the lowers. The stitches bugged me for a couple weeks. I was the only person at work too, so no resting. I brought in my PS and played games to get by.
Think all I got was T3s for pain.

I've had all of mine taken out when I was 18. It sucked the spots off a cow through a straw.

Yeah, I haven't had it done myself however my girlfriend recently had hers pulled about 2 weeks ago. She has been using a good amount of prescribed Vicodin, and telling me that it's been really painful somedays and somedays not. I don't think they are too much of a big deal for me though, as my teeth don't really bother me much.

I had all my wisdom teeth taken out at once. They gave me all sorts of drugs to take afterwards and even though I was in no pain whatsoever I took them all and I was in dreamland. Greatest coma ever.

I only had 3, which made it easier.
The worst part was not being able to eat anything sweet. I was sitting there seeing Wendy's commercials and wanting a GD chicken sandwich but I couldn't eat one for awhile. Also, not being able to smoke for a couple weeks really cheesed me off.
