So what is the best X-Men series that has hit the airwaves? Me personally have to say X-Men since I grew up with it and it was the most true to the comic book series.
X-Men evolution was okay and was enjoyable but kind of went far from being like the comic, ie-Jean Gray and Cyclops students? Wolverine a teacher? However it was probaly better than the movies.
Than you have the orginal the much maligned Pryde of the X-Men which was pretty much hated which starred as it would seem Kitty Pryde. I've never seen it but haven't heard good things about it.
Anyway which one is the best?

X-Men had the best voice acting and great stories that mirrored the comics, but I prefer Evolution's character designs. The 90's cartoon had too many busy-looking, Liefeld-esque models for my taste.

Just plain X-Men. Evolution was alright in spots, and Pryde of the X-Men, well.....Wolverine was Australian, that's all I'll say.

As with most 90's super hero cartoons, X-Men was f***ing awesome. Honestly, about the only positive thing I can say about Evolution is that it had Scott McNeil as Wolverine.

X-Men TAS FTW!
I love that show so much I bought the complete series on dvd off Ebay. Evolution I didn't like at first, but it grew on me and I became a fan just towards the end of it's run.

I thought the last episode was awesome. The vision of the future. Tis a shame it never went on a bit longer.

The 90's X Men was dark and I loved it
The good guys were sometimes assholes and fought with each other (I LOVED the one episode where Cyclops was fighting with Beast about Iceman)
Everything wasn't always black and white
Such a great series which died way too early.

90s X-Men, though it is tough to "go home again" with what worked back then.
I did like Nightcrawler's look for Evolution, with the long hair.

Evo Nightcrawler was what pretty much sold me on Evolution. I liked Evo Rogue too.

The one that play on Fox first. That show was great. Everything after it as been rubbish. I've heard they took direct scenes from the cartoon as reference for the movie...that's how good it is.
