I'll be honest. If I can finish up in the top 10, I'll be happy.
I'm doing better then I ever thought I could.

Im 8-4. So im not dissapointed. Giants won too so that's a plus, a pity it came at the hands of the Jets "That's not a bad thing, that's a good thing." [/DDP] I'll tell you what's a bad thing; the fact that I've gone 6-6 thus far. What kind of crack was I smoking at the time to think the Lions, Seahawks, Chiefs and Dolphins were going to win? I also picked the Lions. I was kinda hoping they would make a run in the playoffs since they haven't been there in a while. But after the way Redskins pooped on them:-/

To think, if the Bears had any resemblance of a running game, they'd probably have a decent lead by now.

To think, if the Bears had any resemblance of a running game, they'd probably have a decent lead by now. They traded away their "resemblance"...

Well that wasn't at all what I was expecting. Good outing, good game. The Bears have won three in a row in Green Bay.

11-2 for the week so far. Only ones I got wrong was picking the Lions over the Redskins (shoulda known better) and picking Seattle over Pittsburgh.

I can breathe a sigh of relief until next week against Minnesota. I think this is the stretch where the Bears get it back together. They needed this win.. as much for the record as the confidence. Minnesota should be a cake-walk if Greise (sp) can keep the ball from going in Sharper's direction. I do expect him to throw a few picks, but expect Minnesota to do very little with the ball.

The disparity between the top two teams (Colts and Patriots) and everyone else is so dramatic, its insane. The NFL, like College Football this year, is all based on how teams matchup against each other and nothing makes sense if you try and draw a conclusion on what happened the previous week.
Look at Chicago, who got blown out of the building last week by Detroit. This week they take it to an undefeated Green Bay team and finally see a return to form by their defense while Detroit gets taken behind the barn by a very mediocre Redskins team.
The only consistent thing in the NFL right now are the inevitable wins by Indy and New England.

The Cowboys are the top of the very good heap, but Indy and NE are leagues ahead of everyone.

Dallas still hasn't played a really good team yet. But they are the best in the NFC.
And am I the only one who thinks this season will be decided more by who's left standing over anything else? Leinart's now more than likely out for the year to add to the ever growing list of players. It just seems like this year everyone is getting hurt.

Dallas still hasn't played a really good team yet. But they are the best in the NFC. I'm not saying I really disagree that New England and Indy are on a different level than the rest of the teams in the NFL, but if that is the case, Dallas is a small step behind, in a class of their own. New England hasn't really beaten any good teams either. Yeah, they pounded an underachieving San Diego team, but Dallas did the same to the Chicago, who were (are) very much on the same level as San Diego. All together, the teams NE have beaten have 7 wins between them. The teams Dallas have beaten, assuming they beat Buffalo tonight, will be 6 wins combined. I'd say they have both played some pretty mediocre teams. On the other hand, Indy has beaten teams with very nice looking w/l records and have handed a few of those teams their first and only losses. As much as I'm not really looking forward to next week's game, I am. I want to have confidence that Dallas can hang with NE, but the fact is, I really don't know if they can. This game will be a good test to see where they stand in regard to the "elite" teams of the NFL. Also, who is gonna deny NE is the cream of the crop? It looks like a team that my nephew started up his Madden game and threw together on fantasy mode. Tom Brady, Moss, Stallworth, Adalius Thomas, Seau, Samuel, Harrison is returning.. and that is just scratching the surface. One question: How the hell is THAT fair?
