The path of the rightous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men... Is that Frank Zappa in your Avi? Indeed it is. I just bought a copy of Just Another Band From LA by Zappa and The Mothers of Invention on vinyl yesterday.

It has its pros and its cons.
Pros:
+ technology makes a lot of things easier (travelling, meeting/keeping in touch with people, learning... not to mention free games, music, movies, tv shows etc)
+ information about diseases
+ relative safety
cons:
- too much technology "killed" the old social interaction.. we know more people but we are more alone in a way.
- too much individualism and lack of bigger values
- general lack of culture/interest in a lot of things... too much stress on "here and there"
All in all, I'd have loved to live my teenage years in the early 70s, mostly for the music, even though the world wasn't really that great back then either. But at least people were killing eachother for political idealism, not for some hundred bucks...

I was born in 1950. Made ice-cream until 1969. Then joined a band. Did unspeakable things in the 70s and 80s. Went sober, and now make blues albums with a rockand roll riff.

And the history lover in me wants to be able to experience what mid 1700s Europe was like.

I like it. I'm thankful for a few reasons of the time I'm living in. Of course the world seemed so much more interesting in the 50s and 60s. I would've loved to have grown up listening to Elvis and Buddy Holly and Johnny Cash and starting my own rock n roll band.
