The 1966 version, just for the friggin shark. okay I'm down with that. On a unrelated note Frank Miller has said the second Batman serial was his favorite Batman on celluloid.

Begins edges out '89 version.
I love both, but Bale just does it better.

Batman Begins. Best depiction of the character on screen thus far.

There is debate?
There is only 3 BATMAN movies that I would consider "good."
The best is BATMAN BEGINS, followed very closely by MASK OF THE PHANTASM and BATMAN RETURNS.

I like all the Batman movies (Apart from "& Robin")
But my order
1) Mask of the Phantasm 2) Begins 3) Batman 4) Batman: The Movie (1966) 5) Subzero 6) Returns 7) Mystery of the Batwoman 8) Forever
9) & Robin

As I'll explain when I get around to my BATMAN franchise review........ The original movie is watchable, at best. Some good moments are underminded by a shoddy script screwed by a WGA strike, Jack Nicholson playing "goofy" Jack Nicholson, Batman being a supporting player in HIS OWN DAMN MOVIE, Alec Baldwin's ex-wife being a rather annoying screamer, Robert Wuhl being useless, among other things. Hell, the best thing I can say about the first BATMAN movie was Danny Elfman's score, and yeah that ending is great with the soundtrack. But otherwise, we would have to wait until BATMAN RETURNS to see a true Tim Burton BATMAN movie...and its worth it.
