Okay, here's the deal I have been at my current job for 2 years now and have been requesting to get moved up in the company. I have been doing the job that I wanted without actually being promoted to it. So, 2 weeks ago my regional manager shows up at the store, and tells me they are moving me up, which is great. Fastforward to the present, this job is stressing me out. It was fine when it wasn't fine and had nothing to worry about. Its to the point where I wish I would have never got the promotion. I don't want to tell the manager though for fear of losing my job altogether, seeing as how the position I was in has been filled. What should I do?

This is a tough spot. You have to live with it for a little while. Maybe it will get better, but you can not go to your boss and tell him you regret being promoted. You'll never get another promotion again. If this boss is a cool guy and you think you can talk to him, tell him that the new job is stressing you out and ask him for advice. But do not say you want to be demoted or that you wish you had never gotten the promotion. Always appear that you are determined and driven. If you do so, asking for help will be seen as sign of strength, not weakness.

You'll grow into the role. Just try your best, relax, and ask for help when you need it.

Exactly. Don't ever be afraid to ask for help. They'd rather you ask first and do it right, then not ask and do it wrong. Not only do you get the information you need, but the act of asking shows more confidence than you might think. It's win/win.

Thing is I was doing just fine in the position when it wasn't mine, had no problems, and now that its actually mine its to much to handle.

If you were doing the job without any problems before getting the formal role, this suggests that it's a problem with confidence rather than with the job itself. Just relax and chill out. Ask for help whenever you feel that it's getting too much to handle.

Freebird Forever, if you don't like your job you don't [quit] you just go in and do it really half-assed, that's the American way!!!
Seriously though, you already got the advice you need.
