Naturally, the Paul Byrd dream had to end sometime.
7-2 on back-to-back from Youkilis & The Fat Black Guy

Naturally, the Paul Byrd dream had to end sometime. 7-2 on back-to-back from Youkilis & The Fat Black Guy Giving up 2 runs over 6 innings isn't bad at all. As a matter of fact, that's pretty good considering Manny Ortiz is playing today...

Whenever I see the Indians at all i think of Major League. I still want a Cleveland closer to use Wild Thing and Bob Uecker to celebrate.

After Trot Nixon sends Kenny Lofton home with the winning run on a bunt.

Be afraid of this man, major leaguers. Be very afraid... It's funny. The guy throws nothing but fastballs, but he still manages to dominate and get outs. He's thrown 7 1/3 scoreless innings in the playoffs so far. He even fooled Ortiz on a rare changeup.

I take all credit for this phenomenon. Well, not all of it. Simmons is a hack.

Personally, I don't care who wins the ALCS, because they're just gonna lose to the Rockies in the World Series Rockies gonna win it all!

Does anyone else feel bad for Francona?
I mean, I don't feel bad for the Sox losing, but it seems like he was "damned if he did, damned if he didn't" with Beckett. If he puts him in and they win, sure it's a great decision, but if they lose then he's an idiot for screwing up his rotation and not giving them a chance to go 2-2 with Becket up in 5. Or he does what he did, and they go down 3-1 and he's an idiot. I think he made the right call. Pitching on short rest almost never works out. The difference this year to when Beckett did it last time is that he's a couple years older, has dealt with injuries, pitched more innings than at any other year, and is hurting now. It wouldn't have been a guarantee that he would win.
Plus, 3 runs off Byrd? I don't think Beckett is the problem.
