Ok, I just burned a DVD, and it said everything was successful. I go to put it into the Playstation 2, and that message comes up? Why is it doing this, and how can I get it to play?
The disc type is Fujifilm DVD+R, if that makes any difference.

I don't think the PS2 plays burnt DVDs unless it's modded. At least mine doesn't.

PS2 does play burnt DVD's. I watched my burnt copy of Faces of Death on my friend's first model PS2 last night.

Really? Oh well, then either I suck or my PS2 sucks.

SOME models of PS2 can play it. I think the ones released in 2003-ish that can do that.

It will play in a DVD player if you have one but most copied DVDs don't work on PS2s

PS2's are going to be very hit or miss on things like this.

You know, the Dreamcast is kinda like that. Older models will boot CDR's while newer models don't. I should have a look at my PS2.

Funny, as my PS2 let my watch my downloaded burned copy of the Japanese version of FF7: AC with no problems (mine's the older/thick style PS2).
You may want to also check to see which version of the DVD driver you have, as I think there was an update included/bundled in with the FFXI package.

The PS2 that I got in 2000 always played DVDs. The new slim one I got in like 2005 played them too...

Mine can, but it's one of those "slim" ones. (The cost wasn't "slim", but, I bought it, cuz I was sick of my old one always brealomg)

I get this same message when attempting to play MLB: The Show on my PS2....Not sure why, as it is a PS2 game, just one day it decided it wasn't anymore and now I can't play that game.
