I was just reading the last VHS tape you bought thread and it made me think about DVD's.
What was the first one you bought?
Mine was either X men 2
or Star Wars episode 2

I think I got four at the same time: Citizen Kane, the Third Man, Weird Al: The Videos, and Pearl Jam: Touring Band 2000.

WrestleMania 15 was the first DVD I ever bought....and I didn't even own a DVD player yet. The best part is...I still have it...and I still have never watched it all the way through.
But I am glad I bought the original DVD releases of WM's 15, 16, 17, and 18 now. Some of the prices I see for those these days are unbelievable.

I bought the Shawshank Redemption (the original 1999 DVD release), Stargate and Maverick all on the same day. The next day I bought Armageddon ( I wanted a film that would sound and look good), Con Air, The Rock and Goldeneye (again, the original in the amaray case, man I miss those cases). Considering DVD had only been available for a few months when I bought my first player, there wasn't that much choice.
