the odd thing about irreversible is that it is a more "classy" version of rape. or in other words the director didn't try to glorify rape.
still it's probably one of the hardest things to watch in a movie.

I read somewhere that most rapes are really short, like 30 seconds, so the scene in The Sopranos when Dr Melfi got raped was so raw and fast, it just seem more real than any other I've seen. But yeah, I Spit on Your Grave is to this day the only film I ever turned off because I felt personally bad for watching it. Gee, fast? Let's see, my girlfriend was raped multiple times by multiple people over a three day period before she escaped. My sister recalls that her's lasted about 10 minutes, with people walking by and not helping. Raw and fast isn't real, and to think you can ever assume to know how real it is until you've been in the situation or felt you were in a possiblity of it happening, you have no room to speculate either way. This thread is disturbing and wrong.

I'm 100% against Rape Scenes, but I have to admit that I quite enjoyed the one in Planet Terror, because it starts out as one, then ends with the now epic (to me anyway) DANCE FOR ME, MOTHERF----R!

You should read what I wrote instead of trying to attack me for no reason.

Melfi's rape in "The Sopranos" was shocking.
The question of whether she was tempted to tell Tony who would no doubt take revenge was interesting.

Do you think perhaps any of us may have been raped? Just because I include those experiences, doesn't mean I haven't included my own. I read what you wrote. It incensed me because I know the terror of it, I know the fear. Taking a horrible crime and generalizing it by "time" is what pissed me off most. Often there is much more than happens than his pitiful cock in side your body, much more. And what has happened to you lasts forever, not just done in 30 seconds. It follows you your entire life. Be glad you will never have to suffer from it.

The beginning of A Time To Kill was hard to watch. We had to watch the movie for some reason in High School and I remember covering my eyes.

One thing I never understood about "A Time To Kill" is why SLJ's character didn't receive any legal aid.
He couldn't really afford a lawyer, so why wasn't one provided for him?

Wait a minute, there are rape scenes out there that DON'T make people squirm!?

I don't think I've seen a single film listed here. Good thing, too, 'cause rape makes me want to go outside and beat the hell out of something.

Yeah, I just put a bunch of movies on my "do not watch" list.
And the rape scene in kids isn't the only part that made me squirm. I swear I needed to take a shower after watching it.

Salo. No point in describing it. Just research it and you'll see why.
