As a kid, I had an affinity for Monster Trucks. They were huge, I could fit inside Bigfoot V's rim standing up, and they were full of mud. What is there NOT to like? For me, my favorite as a kid was Bigfoot. There was no one that could stop him. And then, one day they introduced Bearfoot. He was a poor rip-off to me; but imagine my astonishment when the clone beat the original! And then... we were treated to Awesome Kong. Awesome design that allowed it to leap high and far... and come crashing down, destroying it every time. And then... there was Gravedigger. He ended up being the flagbearer for the entire Monster Truck Series in the 90's. I didn't like him as much as Bigfoot, but for some reason, the Blue Ford fell down the pecking order. I always liked Gravedigger.
Bigfoot was a tad bit overexposed.
Although I marked for Tackleberry and Bride driving away in it in one of the Police Academy movies.

I always thought of Gravedigger as The Undertaker of Monster Trucks.

I loved big foot as a kid. There are countless drawings from my youth somewhere of Big Foot crunching thousands of cars.

My biggest memories of Monster Trucks(and believe me, I was the BIGGEST mark for those things) was a pseudo wrestling type fued between trucks Bigfoot and Snake Bite back in the 90s.
Seriously. I remember having video tapes all about the fued. Snake Bite's driver always wore this mysterious "snake" mask, so you had no idea who he was, and the truck itself was built in this ominous, smoky room...as if it were the depths of the underworld, or something. Meanwhile, Bigfoot's driver was the good ol' country boy, who the fans loved. And, both trucks were neck and neck in race standings, thus making a rivalry. Why this was made into a spectacle is beyond me, but I ate it up.

Gravedigger was always my favorite. Wasn't he billed as from, like, Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina or something like that?

Gravediggers driver was Dennis Anderson... right?
Weird how I remember that...
The novelty of a monster truck was killed for me when they started up that Monster Jam TV Show. That made it seem... less legitamate.
The coolest course I ever saw was the figure 8 road course... I couldn't STAND the side-by-side straight-away courses. The coolest thing I saw recently, was on ESPN Classic I think: it was a Monster Truck FREESTYLE! The trucks were climbing up mountains of cars, doing spin outs... man. I stopped to watch it just because of the memories I had of monster trucks as a kid. I only caught the last 10 minutes, but man... what a nostaglia rush.
