Slysoft's any DVD
It's a region cracker & it can also cut out all the ads at the start and go straight to the menu (If you want)

www.dvd.reviewer.co.uk/default.aspI've used these guys to get firmware hacks. Or you can enter your DVD model and "region hack" into a search engine. The firmwares stuff you have to burn to a CD and load into the dvd player. Some DVD players you enter codes with the remote to change the region. Course I completely didn't read your "Laptop" part. Doctor Doom's idea is good. Dopey region locks.
