The Mother or other Female decided she will cooking Thanksgiving Dinner this year and not their mother or mother in law as in previous years. The result: Turkey is burnt and family have sandwiches instead.

The smallest child will be way too precocious/ intelligent for their age, almost in proportion to the father's bumbling. I absolutely HATE smart little kids. It's totally unrealistic and dumb.

men in general get a bum rap on tv-ESPECIALLY in commercials white men are the only group on the planet that are ok to be made to look dumb, ugly, etc... Try some of those commercials with the male/female roles reversed or toss in a stereotypical black/asian/etc and we have WW3 on our hands!!! Frickin' stupid if you ask me! /white male

Craaaaaaaaaaaaazy parents. After Seinfeld landed a hit with the Costanzas and how Jerry's parents were in their condo....Raymond did it and then Jerry Stiller re-did it in King of Queens.
Though I admit, Jerry Stiller is awesome in KoQ.

The final episode, and often each series finale will be sacherine drenched, with all characters weeping.

There is a book called "The Eight Characters of Comedy" by Scott Sedita that proposes sitcoms only have eight characters. 1. the logistical, smart one 2. the lovable loser 3. the neurotic 4. the dumb one 5. the bitch/bastard 6. the womanizer/manizer 7. the materialistic one 8. in their own universe www.amazon.com/Eight-Characters-Comedy-Sitcom-Writing/dp/0977064107

* The hot girl will eventually learn to "like" the ugly nerd. Who will later de-nerd himself, becoming too cool to be real.
* Couples married for like 20+ years, with a flock of kids around the house, will have wild sex like horny teenagers
* Understanding and dedicated teachers who know the name of all their students, no matter how big the school is.
* Neighbours are either annoying and snoopy morons, or the ideal friends.
* Homosexuality, pregnancy and racism HAVE to be part of a controversial event, ending in a vomit inducting way.

Where would Cousin Balki fit? In their own universe? He seemed to be a combo of no.1 , no.4 and no.8...plus something else.

If two characters share an apartment, at one point they'll feud and perhaps even literally divide the place in half. Also, if the roommates are of the same sex, others will be suspicious of their sexuality. Followed by wacky hijinks. Lots of awful puns. 'Want to oil up the turkey, Frank?' 'I thought it was your turn. Let's just both do it, Ted!'

And now I have the Perfect Strangers theme song in my head. STANDING TALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL ON THE WINGS OF MY DREAM. RISE AND FALL ON THE WINGS OF MY DREAM.

Cool, fun Uncle Gerald comes to stay for the weekend. Kids think he's great, Parents think he's irresponisible.
Wacky hi-jinks ensue, and in the end Gerald is told by Dad that "it's time to stop having fun and grow up"
Gerald takes words to heart.....
"Hey guess who moved across the street?...........and got a job in your office?"
Shows got a new character.

"No matter how much I beg and plead, DO NOT open this door!" *walks through door, starts begging and pleading within seconds, will complain if let out*
