My sister picked me up one of the "Animation Stations" DVDs with five of the cartoon episodes on it, with the theme of the disc being movie spoofs. They spoofed Star Wars, Road Warriors, Robo Cop, Goldfinger and Raider's Of The Lost Arc.
I forgot how great the voices on the show were and all the Italian stereotypes. And there were two awesome markout moments.
First in the Goldfinger spinoff, "In Her Majesty's Secret Sewer", Koopfinger was shown in his layer petting his pet... blue hedgehog. As soon as I saw that, I found myself screaming "MARIOWNED!"
Second in the Raider's episode, Von Koopa and his henchmen all had Nazi bands on their arms with the "K" instead of a swastika. Wow... I was shocked that even back then they could get away with that for a children's cartoon.

I just saw this at my Aunt's house for the first time in ages (My younger cousin's have it on DVD.)
I came away with the exact opposite reaction though. The show hasn't aged well in my eyes.

I tried to screencap the blue hedgehog by print screening Windows Media Center, but no dice.

I forgot how King Koopa would reinvent himself in each episode, which is ironically what King K. Rool did in the Donkey Kong Country games.
As a kid, I always wondered why King Koopa was in charge of the Super Mario Bros. 2 bad guys. Where was Wart?

But seriously... the little hedgehog just looked like they ripped off Sonic as much as they could so that fans would notice, but so that they could avoid a lawsuit. Ah well, I guess someone at Nintendo has a time machine.
