It felt kinda like sex, only not so much as sex so much as a guy RIPPING MY TOOTH OUT OF MY MOUTH WITH PLIERS.
Also, when he was twisting the tooth out of my mouth like my skull was a wind-up musical snowglobe, he missed a piece that I just now had to bend and tug out.
On the upside, blood is tasty.

I had mine pulled a couple of years ago. The gauze they put in your mouth is annoying.

Yeah, I'm gagging on it for some reason, and even though they gave me extra, I'm on my last bit.

You will feel so much better though. I ate soft foods for the first day or two.

Oh dude, I'm a huge pussy when it comes to anything having to do with my teeth. I had the doctor give me novacaine and nitrous oxide, and I was still in pain for days, so he gave me some Vicodin, too. I don't remember much of anything else, to be honest........

I brought my own Vicodin, but I've been able to cope with whatever pain there is.
Of course, the novocaine probably hasn't worn off yet.
EDIT: Your sig never gets old.

Did you get to keep your teeth? I got mine in a little yellow box. One of these days I need to make them into a weird necklace.

He threw it out before I had the chance to ask.
There is one thing I'm worried about--I used up all the gauze he gave me after about an hour, and I've been using tissues ever since. I've heard about something called "dry socket", and to prevent it, swishing with salt water. Anyone care to comment/confirm?

The main purpose of that gauze is to protect that blood-clot in the socket so the gums have something to grow into. I'd think swishing with any liquid could possibly dislodge that blood-clot. I forget how many packs of gauze I got, I had all 4 done. But I changed the gauze every 4 hours or so for a couple days. I'd go back to the dentist and get some more gauze.

I had 5 taken out, one being the size of a pebble really.
It was fine, even ate Thanksgiving dinner the next day.

I had mine removed earlier this year. When I woke up a short time after novacain'd, the pain came and swelled up for the next day and a half. After that, there was no more pain. Since then, life has been awesome.

Yeah, it hasn't stopped bleeding--I thought that wasn't normal for a while there.
Of course, now that I have no gauze, I'm using a roll of toi-toi. Nummy.

I'll need to have mine out soon, too. Yippie. Yeah, I heard pudding is good for afterwards. At least according to Tim of Ctrl-Alt-Del.
