Also of note, the cook in episode two, the one who keeps saying "sonofabitch" and knocks Liz's tray out of her hands, is played by Stephen Merchant, co-creator of The Office and Extras.

Stephen Merchant... The funny one out of the Ricky Gervais/Stephen Merchant team. Graham Linehan (one of the creators of Father Ted) also crops up in a few episodes & one of the guys from the Mighty Boosh (the bearded one) plays the hospital chaplain. Garth Marenghi himself played an IT worker in The Office.

Such a good show. Sanchez has the best voice, he sounds like he's being dubbed. Kind of surprising there wasn't enough series but it was the kind of show that becomes a cult hit and any more might have damaged it.
Man to Man was okay, more hit-and-miss, although there were a couple of episodes with Steve Pising, the Nigel Mansell parody, which were brilliant.

They just started playing this on Adult Swim on Friday nights and I started watching it simply to get to Family Guy, but... It is so absurdly hilarious, I'm watching it every week now. I know one of the Crappers has the show in their sig and I always wondered what the hell "Darkplace" was. Anyone else watching? If you watched the original run, how many episodes did they make? And is that Liz girl hot or is it just me? Sadly, the actor who played Liz, Madeline Wool, is missing, presumed dead. Emphasis heavily on dead. It's not okay to find her hot anymore. [/kayfabe] But yes, I saw this when it was first on TV and had to buy it as soon as it FINALLY came out on DVD.

The Steve Pising episode of Man To Man was the best of the series by far. It was such a perfect parody of Nigel Mansell. I really do need to see that one again.

So many awesome lines. I don't know if it's out on DVD yet, but you have to buy it. The DVD is in character - Dean, Garth and Todd. And they're hilarious. 'I always thought they should call makeup products for black women ethnic cleansing.' 'I would say... a man who behaves like a beast shall never suffer the pain of being a man... yet a man without love... is like an orchard without shedded blossom. I've mellowed I think.'
