I don't generally care about HEC news, but....from the gossip pages of IMDB:
"DVD sales of The Bourne Ultimatum are expected to pass the $100-million mark today (Tuesday) by selling more than 5.5 million units, according to Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The figure exceeds sales of each of the previous two Bourne movies at this stage of their release. The original The Bourne Identity sold 3 million; sequel The Bourne Supremacy, 5 million."
$100 million from just selling DVDs?
God damn.

That shows how much the market has changed, and how a cinema campaign is now often like releasing a hardback/large format book, followed by a cheaper mass market edition... you aim to get some buzz and reviews from it, to use on your DVDs. A profit is a bonus.

I didn't read your post, it's so hard in general to piece together your fragmented sentences and horrible spelling I generally just skip ya over. I think others probably did too, hence my post was the first time they'd glean that information. heh.

I think it reflects not only the popularity of the film, but also people's unwillingness to drag their asses to the theater and pay an arm and a leg anymore. Last time I saw a movie I think it was just under ten dollars for a ticket. Factor in snacks and you'll find after a brief wait, you can have the movie forever whilst you eat and do what you want for far less. Nothing replaces the magic of the big screen, although with some of these tvs and stereo systems and whatnot these days the experience is much closer. Beats twirling the tracking knob on your VCR around.
