Did anyone else like this movie? It's probably one of my favorite new movies of this decade. It's not perfect by any stretch but still an enjoyable film and it's great to watch around this time since the movie does take place around Christmas time. Other great points Ryan Reynolds, Anna Faris and Amy Smart is in it.

I've seen it once, and I enjoyed it. Not as bad as I thought it was going to be.
Plus, I have a thing for Amy Smart. She's damn hot.

Amy Smart is unfairly hot.
And for any guy who can relate to being in the friend zone, I think you can agree with me. I thought the movie should've ended in the final bar scene.
Amy Smart's character: I practically threw myself at you and you just snubbed me (paraphrased, of course) Ryan Reynolds: Yeah.. and now you know how it feels.
(Credits)
.... if that would've happened, I would've jumped up and screamed at the screen, "THAT'S RIGHT, BITCH! NOW YOU KNOW HOW IT f***ING FEELS!"
I possibly would've gone Sandman on my forehead with a beer can as well to celebrate.

My dad loves the movie. He watches just about every time he comes across it on TV, and he says he finds something new every time.

As much as I greatly disliked this movie (it went out of its way to be as annoying as possible) it'd be a 5-star classic had they done the ending like that.

You know, I thought this movie would basically be my life story....It was, because it too sucked.

I know this movie wasn't anything special, but I enjoyed it, too. There's a few things in the movie that I can relate to and there's also a few lines said in the movie that (even before we saw it) were inside jokes between me and my friends...which was weird.

Not suprisingly, though, I was not the only one who shouted.

Aside from Wedding Crashers, it's arguably my favorite chick-flick of the 2000s.

Way better than it should've been. The scene where they see The Notebook and Reynolds says "this is gay" followed by a shot of two guys kissing gets me in stitches every damn time. I'm a go check on demand and see if its on, actually.

I liked it. Went on a first date to see this. I thought it was hilarious. She found it mildly amusing so I felt a bit of an ass pissing myself laughing while she smiled occasionally. Didn`t ruin things though so was alright in the end.

Not seen it, and not really interested.
That said, I really liked Reynolds in SMOKIN' ACES. He makes the ending work.

One of my favorite movies of all time because 50% of it mirrored my life. I WAS the younger Chris Brander and there was a Jamie Palomino that kept me in the "Friend Zone". I lost SOME of the weight but didn't get the big Hollywood job. Lost touch with "my" Jamie Palomino. But Ryan Reynolds had me in friggin' tears playing the role. His interactions with his mother, his little brother, manhandling Anna Faris.
*Debate:
Would Jamie STILL have gotten together with Chris if Chris returned to Jersey and he were fat?
I say no. It was the total package that finally won her over. If he were still fat, no matter how much she "mellowed out", she'd still have him in the Friend Zone. Not saying she's wrong for not wanting to be with him because of his size, BUT love is something deeper than the physical form. I see big guys and hot women all of the time. There's something more there than just the physical OR that the guy's paid.
Well?

I agree I think if Chris was still fat Jamie would not have wanted to hook up with him either. She would have just kept him in the friend zone. Also I don't know if anyone else would agree with me but I kind of wish Chris would have just hooked with Samantha James.
