Just saw Blues Brothers for the first time in eons and of course it has some great wacky chase scenes
my other fave wacky chase scene is from Raising Arizona with the Huggies
as far as action goes- the end to Supercop ,the hillside scene in Police Story
the rain chase in We Own The Night
the reverse freeway chase in To Live and Die in LA
as far as on foot chases
the sewer scenes in The Third Man & He Walks By Night
what are some of your fave chase scenes?

watch "Death Proof". It's balls out. Indeed it's up there, but the rest of the movie plain sucks IMO. Skip to the chase. But nothing tops Blues Brothers IMO.

I definitely agree with Death Proof, Ronin, Bourne Supremacy and Blues Brothers. They're among my favorites.
Smokey and the Bandit deserves some nods Triple X's were good (minus them switching the GTO because the year they used didn't come in a convertable) Death Race 2000 is straight up chock full of campy fun ones. Transporter (again, full of them)
I really liked the one in Four Brothers in the snow. It wasn't that long, but I thought it was shot beautifully in the snow and realistically with the weather and vehicles involved.

Naturally the Blues Bros, but you haven't lived till you've seen the chase scene in Godzilla vs Megalon, complete with 70's porno woodwind music and CARS DRIVING DOWN STAIRS.

There have been some good ones listed here, but another one that comes to mind is from Hooper. The last car chase scene had to all be taken in one take, as they blew up the town around them while they were driving.

Smokey and the Bandit.
For a straight up chase scene, Empire Strikes Back, with the TIE fighters in the Asteroid Field to the Falcon "attacking" the Star Destroyer.

The chase from "The Chase" with Charlie Sheen and Kristy Swanson.
Yeah, I had to go there. But, I liked that movie.

The French Connection has my favourite car chase. In terms of non-car chases, I love the Point Break chase and also French Connection 2, where Gene Hackman chases Fernando Rey for ages throughout the streets of Marseille. He's absolutely exhausted but he let him get away in the first film so he just won't give up in this one.

watch "Death Proof". It's balls out. If you like the scene in Death Proof, you should watch a movie that they mention in the last half of the movie. I can't believe that I didn't mention The Vanishing Point early on ... I would suggest seeing the old 70's film and not the remake with Viggo Mortenson. But then again who am I to judge, so you could watch both movies ... But the first one had better car scenes.
