Cardiff are down 2-0 at Charlton.
Meh, I've stopped caring. They need some new, young players.

I agree with what Dunphy was saying after the United game. All these bollix team like Beskthas & Kiev shouldn't be in the Champions League. And Platini actually wants to take one of the 4 spots away from the big leagues & give them to other smaller crap teams! As supporter of a "smaller crap team" from a "small crap country", I couldn't disagree more... These teams are usually National Champions and do deserve to be in the Champions League more than a "big leaguer" that closed in 4th or 5th, 20+ points behind the winners. Smaller teams can score an upset against Big Names while showcasing talented players who could instead go unnoticed. I'm not saying UEFA should revert back to the old Champions' Cup format (only national champions), but I think 2 teams for bigger nations are more than enough. The whole SuperLeague idea the G14 (and others) are pushing for is disgraceful IMO. Smaller teams help keeping things interesting. If we have Real Madrid - Manchester and AC Milan - Bayern München every other month, the magic of the "big match" would quick fade. Not to mention some of the G14 have been sucky themselves (Borussia Dortmund, Leverkusen, Ajax, Paris SG) Long live small teams!

Bloody hell Liverpool. Leave it late and then get 2 goals. I know it's smart to try and get a result but I'm getting sick of certain teams coming to Anfield and putting 11 men behind the ball and not trying to attack.

Just back from the pub after the Liverpool/Fulham game
I must say, Fulhams 6 man defence tactics worked well for 80 minutes.
Yeah the penalty was controversial, but we had so many 'offside' decisions against us that were not, I feel it evened itself out in the end
Plus we have had so many dodgy penalty decisions given against us so far (see Malouda,Flourent) that I see it as justice!

Not to mention some of the G14 have been sucky themselves (Borussia Dortmund, Leverkusen, Ajax, Paris SG) Long live small teams! Agreed. I'd like to add that one of the most popular and prestigious cup competitions in the world is the FA Cup that comprises of a very large number of little teams which often leads to a number of cup upsets each year which keeps it interesting. The competition is called the Champion's League, and as such I WOULD like to see it go back to the system of only champions enter. It would be overall better for the European game in that there would be more than just 6 countries who are likely to win competitions (ie. England, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands - I know more have won trophies but still). As things currently sit, all the major money continues to flood into the same countries thus they get stronger and the rest (I'd say particularly Eastern European countries) suffer. If, for a random example, the Belorussian Champions, suddenly were facing a team like say, Spanish Champions, Real Madrid, wouldn't that bring about a greater interest in the local game? Especially if the team give a good account of themselves, and there is always the chance for a cup upset. And on another different discussion entirely, Newcastle were disgraceful today. Why BS was happy with a draw today I do not know, Sunderland are not in form and if we'd played like we did in the final third we could have actually won the game - when we actually TRIED. Add to this the fact that our top goalscorer, Obafemi Martins, and our captain, Geremi were left on the bench. Oh, and the fact we had a left winger at left back, a centre back at right back, an attacker playing defensive midfield, a centre midfielder playing right wing and a right winger playing on the left, I do not know. Substitutions didn't come quick enough. More tactical blunders from BS. I hope he gets it right soon.

Agreed, I'm sure my team my team was thought of as a "crap team" from a small country and whilst the 2nd part is true, my team has beaten the German & French champion so you never know who can do what in it Mind you.......My team never won our league last year so........... My only problem with the tournament is the name......If you wanna call it the champions league then fine, only let champions play in it If you want it to the the premier european tournament where all of the top teams from the top european leagues play then just rename it the european cup already

Liverpool march on!!!! Yeah!!!!! Hopefully Man Utd and Chavsea will lose or draw tomorrow.
As far as the Champions League goes, the best format I think would be as following.
Champions and runners up of leagues go into the European Cup.
Third and fourth placed teams go into the UEFA Cup.
All cup winners go into the Cup Winners Cup.

I don't think they should bring back the Cup Winner's Cup though, you have the whole debacle of if the cup winners win the league then the CWC place would go to the other finallist, however what if the other finalist finished 2nd in the league and so on and so on.

If the CWC kept going, Millwall would have qualified for it in 2004.

Lazio's match with Inter Milan has been postponed after a Lazio fan was killed in Arezzo, Tuscany by Juventus fans. Actually he was alledgedly killed by a policeman. Mayhem is happening in stadiums all over Italy: Atalanta - AC Milan has been suspended for good. "Fans" have assaulted a police station and a cameraman outside Milan's stadium. The usual crap happening in a nation totally unable to cope with assholes using footbal as an excuse for their actions.

We've gotta win by two clear goals tomorrow if we're to go back top. We won 4-0 at Reading last year, so doing that again will be fantastic.
