***SPOILER***
Alonso got owned by Hamilton once again, thus proving that if given the fastest car on the grid, every average and consistent F1 driver can win races and possibly championships.
Maybe Niki Lauda wasn't talking bullcrap when he said even a monkey can drive current F1 cars.

Wow Hamilton does it again. He's a breath of fresh air for F1. People in Britain are really starting to get back into the sport because of this kid.

How is it a spoiler when it's already aired? Some countries don't have live coverage of F1... I know this sounds absurd, but it's true Anyway, I'm down with Alonso getting his ass kicked... He was really buying into his own hype, and I don't think he's all that deserving his #1 spot. 2005 he was running alone, as Ferrari were running on chewing-gums instead of tyres. 2006 Renault ran a borderline illegal car (mass damper) for half a season. Despite Schumacher's valiant comeback, Lady Luck was on Fernando's side. Not to count he had a useless teammate like Taxi Driver Fisichella...

I never get that about Formula one. How can it possibly be competitive if they all have different cars?
It really baffles me.

I never get that about Formula one. How can it possibly be competitive if they all have different cars? It really baffles me. Different people can do different things with the setups of the cars, and adapt to changing track conditions. Just because you have this-and-this car doesn't mean you can't be competitive. Take NASCAR for example.

I never get that about Formula one. How can it possibly be competitive if they all have different cars? It really baffles me. In fact it's NOT competitive... The two-three teams with the biggest budget* will fight for the Championship, while the rest of the field can only hope for a lucky win or some podiums in troubled races. Others will just struggle to survive and score points once in a blue moon. * the rule doesn't apply to perennial underacheivers like Toyota. Back when the technical rules were less strict in matter of aerodynamics and general chassis construction, it was up to the genius of the designers/engineers coming up with innovative ideas. That made F1 competitive and we could have many teams fighting for the Championship or at least for winning GPs on certain type of tracks. Too bad F1 have been turned into a greedy business and into a boring procession most of the time... Car setups and aerodynamics adjustments can only get you so far, but if your car is 1s slower, you can't magically find it...

I notice Honda has really dropped the ball this year. Over the last 3 or so years Honda started to become really competitive and looked like it was only a matter of time before they would become one of the top teams in F1.
But this year well let me say this: when the team with the engine you used last season (Super Aguri) is doing better then your team then something has gone really really wrong.
Super Aguri this year is also proof that Honda could of been great this year if they improved on that engine. I don't know what went wrong. But it may be something to do with that greener friendlier engine they have been promoting.

I didn't watch the race, it's father's day in the states so my sister and I took my dad to see Fantastic Four. Then went to my aunts house for a BBQ, good times.

NASCAR race was better....but the first half of the F1 race was ok.
BTW, the race was on nationwide coverage on Fox today. Usually, its on a cable channel.
