I must say I really like the concept for ONS, and think that if they had the "every match is under extreme rules" stipulation every year that it could be one of the most anticipated PPV's of the year.
People have said since KOTR left that WWE needed another major PPV between Wrestlemania and Summerslam, and this may very well be it.
I really think it could be a special PPV each year with lots of specialty matches you don't get to see all the time.

Isn't it more like the 16'th PPV?

Well, to make it the 5th PPV, they gotta start to no book it 2 weeks after the previous PPV.

With 15 tri-branded PPVs a year, I don't think that the WWE really needs a PPV between Wrestlemania and SummerSlam. If this were last year, I'd be behind ONS (or any PPV, really) becoming one of the universal Raw/SD!/ECW events, but now that they all are, this argument seems to lack any real purpose.
That said, I do agree that the extreme rules stipulation could be interesting. Unfortunately, the stipulation lacks teeth this year as most of the matches already have "extreme" stipulatons.

Until this year, I genuinely feel that it WAS the fifth major PPV.

no, im already over killed with the amount of ppvs and the ones being booked a week or 2 ahead of time. and matches being rematches and such that we seen on tv a week b4. With all the ppvs i dont even know if you can even use the term, 'major'

I hate needless thrown together gimmick matches. This seems like the "Lockdown" of WWE PPVs.
If they had more time to develop them, then it could most likely become a major PPV that people looked forward too.
...
Wait. Scratch that. Because EVERY year, people would complain that it isn't ECW.

I have to say the 5th Mahor PPV will be The Great American Bash as you know Vince will book that event this year with all kinds of great matches

Never ever ever ever. I doubt Uncensored was one of the WCW's big PPV's, why should it be for WWE?

Just bring back the KOTR. Seriously, a huge tournament with brackets from all 3 brands, each one sending its final representative into a triple threat match at the KOTR ppv, winner getting a title shot of their choice (a la Rumble winner)... it's gold.

One Night Stand should have been faithful to its name: a One Time Only deal.
In fact it worked so well the first year because it was some kind of ECW "the way we were", with the chance of having old ECW Alumni (at times from different eras) facing each other.
Then ONS II was already a way to promote the new born ECW brand, and was WWE-ized.
This year it's just another PPV, and a second-rate one as well.
Most of the fans won't ever accept something that was originally meant as a tribute (and a moneymaker) becoming a Big Event staged under the banner of the "enemy"

I don't ever think it'll be one of the bigger PPVs. Who's to say they'll still use the name in a few years? Remember when Badd Blood went away for a few years and then came back? The same thing could happen to ONS. Or it could be done away with forever after this show. Who knows really?
I just don't see it ever rising above the other PPVs.

It's pretty much in a tie with the Rumble as my 2nd favorite behind Mania. If it does as well this year as it has the first two, I'd say its time for the E to really put some more stock into it.

I'm interesting in seeing how ALL the tri-branded PPVs do. Since more talent is featured, theoretically they should all do more buys than usual. Then again, there are a lot of top stars out.
