Y'know... It was with everything... When Hogan didn't get his way, he'd complain and/or rude female and complain and/or rude female and complain and/or rude female. But then, he'd cheat, and I remember him beating the Undertaker for the title by cheating, which led to Flair's reign. Hogan was old hat in 1992. I think Sid got screwed out of a good face run (Even though we know the guy could be an ass backstage... See: Arn Anderson incident). The fact that Hogan can't put someone over without getting revenge or complain and/or rude femaleing really speaks to the fact that the guy is a political scum. Actually he put over Angle, Goldberg, Yokozuna and Lesnar without getting revenge. Shawn Michaels sounds more like that to me. To his credit, towards the end of his career, he wasn't as much of a problem... Maybe trying to make up for some past mistakes... In the case of Yoko... It wasn't totally clean, given the cameo by Harvey Wippleman. Y'know what, you're right... Michaels can be a nightmare, but it's usually when he had a title... He even put over Hogan at Summerslam. Both are still political scum... You're right to have brought Shawn up.

I don't blame you youngsters for not liking Hogan if this Era was your first exposure to him. I'm a huge Hogan mark and even I hated him during this era all the way up until the NWO.

Actually he put over Angle, Goldberg, Yokozuna and Lesnar without getting revenge. If by "put over Yokozuna" you mean "beat him for the title in five seconds in a match he wasn't in at WM9 and then dropped it back at KOTR in his first and only defense of that reign, his loss due entirely to an evil cameraman".

I had no idea it was even edited in the first place. I'll have to go watch the Flair DVD to check both out.
EDIT - Just read that it cuts out before the post match face off but its blatantly obvious when you see everyone leap up once Hogan is thrown out.

I never understood how WWF came to the conclusion that one man eliminating another in a man billed as "every man for himself" meant that Sid became a heel.

Again, the WWF only piped in boos and cheers and changed the commentary for that ending DURING ONE SATURDAY NIGHT'S MAIN EVENT SHOW! The Coliseum Video version of this tape has ZERO crowd piping and was shown EXACTLY how it aired originally.
That Youtube video showed nothing that anyone who freakin' watched the show or owns the tape wouldn't know. Sorry for the excessive caps, but sheesh, I've mentioned this so many times (on many different forums). They only altered the crowd noise and commentary on the SNME before WM VIII so that they could portray Sid as a heel. They may have recapped it a few times on Superstars or Challenge, but that's the ONLY time they "changed" the ending.
As for the 1992 ending itself, I agree. I was and am a huge Hogan fan, but it made no sense to have Sid eliminate Hogan fairly, then have Hogan help Flair win, and make Sid the heel. A better ending would have been Hogan eliminating Sid, then Sid helping Flair win, setting up Hogan vs. Sid at WM. WHy they chose the exact opposite while keeping Hogan as a face baffled me, and still does.

Actually he put over Angle, Goldberg, Yokozuna and Lesnar without getting revenge. Shawn Michaels sounds more like that to me. Agreed. Michaels never jobs without getting his win back, except when he faced Hogan and Austin (and Michaels got hurt before he could beat Austin down the road). I think the point people usually miss is that Hogan didn't job a lot because he was never booked to. He was pushed as superman during a time when that type of booking was making a huge glob of money. I tend to talk down to younger posters here because they like to talk about things from the past that they have no clue about, and this is the biggest example of it. Some here are so used to the current "even steven" booking pattern (where wins and losses mean nothing), that they try to associate it with the past. It was a different time period. There is no point in using today's standards to judge the past. Why that concept is so hard for some people to grasp is mind boggling to me.

In all fairness, some of the people here do the exact opposite too.

This could've been from the Flair Anthology. Actually, I watched that match on the Flair Anthology recently, and I think they cut away just after Sid was eliminates, so it didn't get the chants for Sid. Footage is probably from the RR anthology then.

He's the bad guy who represents the "evil" Japanese, so the treachery and underhanded tactics worked just fine for Yoko to beat Hogan. Plus Hogan got beaten after the match, I'd say that's being put over. They all can't be clean wins, and the Hogan win at WM 9 pretty much was the highlight of the show, as it was pretty boring beforehand. Hogan couldn't slam Yoko, and Yoko kicked out of the Leg Drop of Doom, I'd say that's being put over also.
