I really doubt a current WWE star woulda drawn much more-the smaller promotions will always draw about the same crowds they always have

Whats even worse is that with all the ads they ran and such, the price of talent(you gotta believe that hogan had to be at least 10 to 20 grand) plus expences, they probably did not even break even.

Was this a charity thing? I know Hogan didn't get paid as much as he was asking Vince for WrestleMania

Was there any real promotion though? I mean you never saw an ad for it on TV unless you lived in the Memphis area

I wonder how diffrent it would of been if it was Lawler Vs Hogan I bet it would have been at least 6,000 or more for Lawler. He's a huge draw there.

Not Surprising... Given that I live up north, all I ever heard about it was through wrestling forums and websites like this one.
The fact that people who don't live don't south, and aren't hardcore enough fans to do message boards and such never even knew that it was going on doesn't surprise me.
Had Lawler been on the card, Memphis would've been all over this, but it just wasn't meant to be.

Somewhere...in a dark mansion.
A match is lit. The flame being touched to a hundred dollar bill, which ignites. Slowly, the bill raises, until it touches the Cuban cigar in the mouth of its holder.
Vince McMahon laughs.
"Mission accomplished!"
An evil laugther errupts as Jerry Lawler practices his perverted quotes, his wrestling boots hidden away for another day.
