WWE has banned the shooting star press and the 450 splash. SmackDown superstar Paul London did a shooting star plancha which wasn’t technically illegal, but Vince McMahon told him if he did it again he would fire him on the spot.
After being promoted to Executive Vice President of Talent and Creative Writing for WWE, Stephanie McMahon-Levesque has acquired 42,500 shares of stock for $490, 810.
The voice of RAW Jim Ross will be opening his “J.R.’s Family barbecue” restaurant in his hometown Norman, Oklahoma on June 27th. It will have a wrestling theme and will be decorated with pro wrestling memorabilia.

The SSP was already banned, but I guess theyr'e banning all variations now? Ah well, no big surprise, since I think they want to do away with all flippy type moves that don't rhyme with Dune Malt.

I freakin' hate WWE sometimes. What's the point of having cruiserweights or a cruiserweight division if you don't let them do the high flying moves they specialize in?

Both are cool moves to see if done right. But if done wrong, they could be fatal. Vince is protecting his talent, plain and simple. It sucks that we won't see 450s or SSPs anymore, but its not like we've never seen the moves done before.

Is it in bad taste if I say:
DO IT AGAIN! DO IT AGAIN! DO IT AGAIN! DO IT AGAIN!

Can you chokeslam the waiter through the table if they get the order wrong?

For moves that could injure easily, and have, but are "safe style approved", let's take a gander, shall we?
Sit out powerbomb? Check, see D'Lo.
Clothesline? Check, see Stan Hansen
Flapjack/back body drop? Check, see Benoit/Sabu
Standing Sidekick/Mule kick? Check, see Goldberg/Bret.
All are safe style, and all have seriously injured someone.

Damn Billy Kidman. His SSP's were a nightmare, I think the banning stemmed from him knocking Chavo out with his version. London's always looked very smooth and fluid.

Well, he and Juvi. Irony being, Kidman buries knees in the face of guess who? London. Juvi messed up his version and narly killed who? London. So, now London is banned from doing two moves which he himself was personally injured by others screwing up.

Well, Undertaker can do the Tombstone because they trust him.
When London has been working for them a bit longer, I'm sure he'll get the same trust.
You can't have guys throwing themselves around like that when they're on the road for three hundred plus days a year. It'll take a toll. I think it's better to save those big spots for when they mean something.
'sides, London is a perfectly fine wrestler without resorting to big flippy dippy moves.

Seems silly to ban a move for a single isolated incident that could easily occur with other moves.
It's easy to do a plancha and smack someone in the face with your knee just the same. Hell it happened in the HBK/Angle mania 21 match, HBK's knee just didn't make quite as solid a contact (Still split Kurt's lip though)

That is, after mentioning the devastating blow to the obsipital pectoracic nervosa?
