Sounds like good news, as I hate when guys are f***ed over because they can't use their name, but I don't know if I believe the report...especially after seeing some WWE patents for RVD. But I hope for RVD's sake he has his name. He may be a pothead, but he isn't too dumb.

To me, signing over your character name is like selling your soul to the devil. Why would you do such a thing? That name is your money ticket no matter where you are or what you're doing.

It's pretty logical that he'd get it since Lance Storm said in one of his commentaries that if you've used your ring name from before the WWE, you get to keep it. So Lance Storm used it for years before coming to the WWE, hence why he never had to change it, same with RVD. Unfortunately, "Team 3-D" never looked that over

It was reported in 2005(I believe by Meltzer himself) that RVD had in fact signed over his name to WWE. So either Meltzer is wrong now or he was wrong two years ago. Either way it doesn't do much to help his already faltering credibility.

I was hoping that he would become RV. Dean, and travel the country in a Winnebago with his Arabian sidekick fighting crime and looking for White Castles.

I envisioned RV Dean as going around the country and "going to New Hampshire, WE'RE GOING TO SOUTH CAROLINA, OKLAHOMA, CALIFORNIA, TEXAS, AND SOUTH DAKOTA, AND WASHINGTON, AND MICHIGAN THEN WASHINGTON D.C. AND WE'RE GONNA TAKE BACK THAT TNA TITLE..... YEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!"
