Cena would retain.
But then Lashley would have to go over.
Cena must still be champion... but Lashley needs to go over... Cena win... Lashley... Cena... Lashley... Cena....
*head explodes*

Cena and Lashley enter the ring, Micheal Buffer goes over the ring announcement, the bell rings and the Earth implodes so neither has to lose.

The match would never take place.
Cena: "You want some? Come get some!"
Lashley: "No."

At some PPV in the coming months, Cena and Lashley are forced to team up together against....idk, Khali and Umaga. Because those two are Vinces boys, Shane starts to wreak havoc among Cena and Lashley. He tells Lashley that no matter how good of a champion he was, John Cena is seen as the WWE's poster boy, and that has to get to him! He tells Cena that Lashley is starting to get so good so fast, that soon John Cena will just be a footnote in the history of the WWE.
When it comes time for the match, the two get along well enough, but theres an incident of some kind. How about...Lashley accidentally slams into Cena, costing them the match.
The night after on RAW, tensions between the two rise. It gets worse when Vince announces an Elimination Chamber match for the WWE title at Summerslam, with the participants being Cena, Lashley, Orton, Khali, Umaga, and Shane McMhaon. (Hey, you knew it would happen.) At SS, it comes down to Cena, Orton, and Lashley. Cena has his back turned to Lashley, as John gets closer to a cowering Randy Orton in the corner. Just then, Vince and Shane come back into the ring and blast Cena from the back, completely brutalizing an already injured champion. Cena is out, gets pinned by Orton, and never knows the difference. With Cena out and three heels in the ring, Orton becomes WWE champion.
The next night on RAW, it's announced that John Cena will be out with an injury for a few months. Lashley chases Orton for a few months, leading to Survivor Series, where the two have to form their own teams. Orton goes with Masters, Khali, Johnny Nitro, and Carlito. Lashley picks Jeff Hardy, HBK, Santino, and the returning John Cena. In the months leading up to SS, Cena explains that he just wants a shot at Orton, and doesn't trust Lashley after what happened at Summerslam. He believes it's all Lashleys fault.
At Survivor Series, it comes down to Cena and Lashley vs. Orton. Orton is able to sneak an RKO on Lashley and eliminate him. Cena "Overcomes the odds" one more time and beats Orton, winning the match for Lashleys team.
New Years Revolution: In a triple threat match, Bobby Lashley wins the WWE title when John Cena is unconcious outside the ring. Cena wins the Rumble, and we have the slow buildup to Cena vs. Lashley for the WWE title at WM24. In the match, Cena turns heel ala Stone Cold at WM17 with the help of the McMhaons.

I don't know but I'm beginning to think this could be the WM Main Event. I like the idea of one of them going heel. I think Lashley would go over for the belt and do the turn. If they booked him like Brock he would make a great heel.

Both men throw clotheslines at the same time, which starts a black hole that sucks up the galaxy.
