Prolly bout near the end of 99. I mean I know it sounds all good and stuff to say Wrestlemania 17, but naw, it didnt end there. Its 99 when the WWF kinda gave into the dumbass PTC. Didnt hurt nothing though, cause 2000 and 2001 were for real the most entertaining WWF years ever...

Why is this question seemingly asked every week. Can we not just have a special permanent thread for this question, along with other ones that continuously come up,like Montreal and Hogan,HBK at SummerSlam.

When WCW arrived I think. I'd always previously said WM 17 but it carried on after that. Austin's heel turn was a big part of it still IMO.

WM 17 really did signify the end of it. Not only with the Austin heel turn, but with Rock taking his first prolonged vacation to make a movie, and with WCW being bought at pretty much the same time.

it had an Attitude era feel to it

I think KOTR 2001 it had an Attitude era feel to it If that had Shane vs Kurt, that was one of the best matches of the year in my opinion. I felt the Attitude era began to end when the Invasion finished up with the brand split. It just didnt feel the same afterwords.

I would say the beginning of the McMahon-Helmsley era was the end of the Attitude Era. It's how I felt about it back then too.

I agree. That's how I feel about it in retrospect. HHH wedding killed it. IMO.

I say WrestleMania 17, not because "it sounds good to say it" but because it's what I really think

WM X7. that was the big blowoff for the entire era. if the era was a ppv, that was the main event. it was entertaining, but after it was done you just knew that everything was over, and things were gonna change. unfortunately, i expected things to change for the better. then we had the inVasion, and everyone got disapointed.

The beginning of the end of the Attitude Era was the last episode of Nitro with it finally coming to an end the night after Survivor Series 2001 IMO.

I would have to say when WCW and ECW died. The end of competition made the wWE become complacent and now they don't even try.

I said with the name change. There were plenty of signs that it was being phased out, but they didn't really acknowledge an end to it until they had to get the F out.

As crazy as this sounds, I say the Attitude Era ended the first time Austin went out with that major injury and HHH started his mega-feud with The Rock.

The Attitude Era was built around Austin vs McMahon and in my opinion, ended as soon as WM17 went off the air.
