Seriously, from 97-01 there was a decent shirt for near enough everyone on the roster popular enough to have one. But in recent years it's been obnoxious/lame shirt after obnoxious/lame shirt. The DX "cock" shirts were lame. The shirts featuring phrases not even uttered by superstars was dumb too. How many times did The Rock say "Hows your lips?". Maybe once and even that was after the shirt had debuted. Same with Cena and his Hustle, Loyalty, Respect thing last year.

Nothing goes out of date faster than a wrestling shirt anyway, so even if it was cool it won't stay cool for very long.

Good point. Although recently WWE have started re-producing popular shirts such as 3.16, What? and Just Bring It, Layeth the Smacketh down so there's obviously some which stay popular. Probably due to the fact that everybody loved wrestling back in the Austin/Rock days. I have the Eddie tribute shirt and a lot of people ask to look at it when I wear it and ask me who Eddie was (if they don't know) which is kinda cool. I wear my Carlito one with the apple on it too which people like. Although my Shelton shirt and "Eddie stole my other shirt" t's just seem to confuse people.

I agree, alot of there shirts now are just a ploy for money. Shitty wal mart designs too.

It's been stated already that the only good wrestling shirt is the one that doesn't look like a wrestling shirt... But indeed 99% of the current merchandise is lame. Even the "nearly wearable" T-shirts have one of two details that kinda kill the appeal (mostly colour, and the "spunk syndrome")

I think the rules for wrestling shirts being wearable are:
1) No wrestler's pictures 2) No random crazy colors that will make you stand out like Carlito's Orange shirt. 3) No wrestler's names really big. 4) No WWE logo
All have there exceptions. There's probably a couple of other ones that I forgot.
Like no references to threesomes with title belts, and cock references.

I don't see anyone even wearing them anymore. In the late 90's you seen Austin, Rock, and nWo shirts everywhere. Kids to adults wore them, but now I don't even see little kids wearing current WWE shirts (Cena & DX etc.)
Maybe it's because even kids know crap when they see it. That or their parents won't let them wear something that embarrassing out in public.

WWE needs to re-release the nWo shirt.
Sure, it'll stir up 912894238 nWo vs DX rumors...but I want that shirt.
Because when you're nWo, you're nWo 4 life.

Actually I've been seeing a lot of people wearing WWE shirts lately, it's almost like they've been giving them out. Mostly DX shirts, though.

How much do they suck??? ....Eleventy much.
Wrestling T-Shirts are worthless nowadays, no matter which promotion it is. If you even saw a guy at the mall wearing a Mayweather or De La Hoya T-Shirt, you'd think he was a loser. If you saw a guy with a wrestling shirt....come on...
Maybe I'm living in the wrong part of the country (Los Angeles) but I'd assume the T-Shirt craze has been done for six years.

Unless you know who the NRC are, you won't know it's a wrestling shirt.

I think they all suck. Now TNA on the other hand, has two good ones. The Christian Cage main event one, and the Paparazzi Productions.

Edge's shirts look like normal street shirts with his logo that blends in with the shirt and it has a non wrestling based slogan which anyone can wear (Sex and Violence and more recently, Leud, Crude and Tattooed)
HHH's shirts (NOT DX) seem to look pretty badass most of the time.

The WWECW shirts have been awesome. Sandman, Dreamer, Balls, Punk, and Taz have all had awesome t-shirts. Sandman's parental advisory shirt is up there with my favorite wrestling t-shirts of all time.
