We know what kind of a mess that the WWE is in right now. Thanks to a rash of injuries, potential leavings, crash booking, and a chairman that decided to make himself champ of a brand, it this is not the best time to be backstage at the E. But does it actually play to their favor? The last few weeks have been fairly unpredictable, and the E has started to go to a Crash Booking mentality towards things, perhaps best exemplified by Edge beating an injured Kennedy for MITB, and then SPOILER!!!!! cashing it in to become WHC on SD. Some could see this as a mess, some could see it at them keeping fans on their toes and taking lemons and making lemonade.
So, what do you think about WWE's current booking?

Is that really a little japanese girl in your sig or is that a midget?

I was a fan of unpredictable WCW booking and I'm a fan of unpredictable WWE booking too. I'd rather have crappy, illogical surprises than logical, boring non-surprises actually, a lot of the time.

Without competition, the E is a stagnant beast. With all the injuries and uncertainty, they must improvise. This improvisation will make for better tv. Otherwise, they're content to beat you over the head with the same old things as long as the money's coming in.

When forced, they seem to be able to come up with interesting plot developments. When allowed to rest, they don't seem to come up with anything at all. I think this just shows that when everything is going their way, the people in charge of creative are simply lazy. The creativity only comes out when it's forced out. Their backs have to be against the wall.

Creatively, yes they are having some serious problem. Business wise, they are doing great.

I like the fact that when things like this happen, creative go back to the old wrestling chestnut of having the title suddenly become important again.

I'll vote after next week's run of shows to see how they're doing. I'm still in "wait-and-see" mode on all of this.

I don't thinks its better in a tail spin, they just seem to try harder when they can't be on cruise control. When something forces them to try (injuries, competition, Vince after a bad aschel (sp?)) then they dip into the talent that got them their jobs and put out something good. I think all of us are like this, in that when we don't have something making us try our hardest, we tend to slack off and go into cruise control.

As for the question, a tailspin is good. The writers backed themselves into a hole in the ground and as mentioned in my other thread about Edge's impact (cheap pop/shilling), they either need to take desperate measures or guys need to step up.

A forest fire is a great way to clear out old brush...and the ashes make for good fertilizer.
