Lethal Weapon 5 starring Stevie Richards and the Blue Meanie...cameo by Steve Blackman as "Mr Intensity"...coming soon to DVD. I'd buy it.

Can someone explain how going to theatres hurts them financially? Do they pay for the theatre distribution?
Personally, I have more respect and am more likely to see a movie that made it to the theatres over a movie that went straight to video. I think its good for the movie's image, even if the reviews are bad.
By the way, straight to DVD movies get reviewed to....although, not quite as publicly

Will this make it harder or easier for RiffTrax? I would think oh so much easier. I think this is a great move for them, but this means we may see more promotion for the movies during wrestling time, because they won't have as many avenues to promote the movies through commercials, trailers in front of movies, and print.

Will this mean we'll have "Apple City Takedown" in movie form?
If so, along with Lethal Weapon 5, that's more than enough to convince me.

In honor of the "Is WWE going Ghetto" thread, they could make a remake of "Boyz N Tha Hood" starring Marcus Cor Von, Elijah Burke, Shelton Benjamin, and Bobby Lashley.
Special guest stars Viscera as 'Doughboy" and Teddy Long as 'Furious Styles"

"We are now able to move more into direct-to-video production, and that will be the next focus," said, adding the company is looking at a couple of such scripts.
I think they meant:
"We now have to move into direct-to-video production because we've failed," said, adding the company is looking at a couple of aweful scripts.

I don't think it's much of a coincidence that this comes on the heels of The COndemned bombing.

Can someone explain how going to theatres hurts them financially? Do they pay for the theatre distribution? Two of the biggest costs in moviemaking are advertising and making film prints. Each print that goes to a movie house is about a hundred grand. And advertising is an enormous expense. If they go direct to DVD they pretty much have their target audience watching their TV shows so it's much less costly. And no film prints, obviously.

I t would make it harder from rifftrax (as the movies wouldn't be as well known) but ironicy they would have been fodder for the old MST3k as they done a ton of direct to video movies
I think they should have a road trip movie with the Hardys, Shannon Moore and Gregory Helms, maybe they gotta go cross country to get something..hell throw in Edge as the guys Nemesis
I still want a Samson vs the Vampire Women remake with Rey Mysterio
Khali (in character of course) as the male lead in a Jane Austin story
The Undertaker as an old west Undertaker who takes the law into his own hands when the local sheriff doesn't seem to do anything about the gang of ..bandit (or whatever) who have rode into a once peacful town

$4.4M so far? That's sad...even for a WWE film. I know first run cinemas around here didn't even show it last weekend. It will probably end up in the .99 cinemas this weekend at the malls. So much for Stone Cold's lasting appeal Thank god. The less I see of that wife-beating hillbilly the better.
