Remember back in 2003, Rock/Hogan 2 at No Way Out. The Rock had been gone for a while making movies and returned as a sort of a primodonna thinking he was too good for the WWE.
Anywho I remember at No Way Out that he came out to different music. The Titantron had all aerial shots of Hollywood and it had a really long intro. The actual song was much slower in tempo, but it sounded really cool.
Did anyone else really like this version,or was I the only one?

Easily one of my favorite themes. I was actually at that NWO in Montreal, and during the long intro part my buddy and I were looking at each other wondering what the hell was going on. When it finally broke into a slow version of the Rock's theme we marked out big time.

OK, as a long time Hollywood Rock TitanTron mark (tm), I feel obliged to offer my two pence. The debut of this Titantron was at No Way Out 2003. It went on considerably longer than other times - the No Way Out version was about 45 seconds. When Rock cut that famous heel promo in Toronto, different footage was used again. At Wrestlemania XIX and Backlash 2003, there was some different footage used in there, and it went on for about 30 seconds. The version that was used in WWE Here Comes The Pain is yet another edited version, cutting out about 10 or so seconds from the start. The soundbites that were origianlly used at No Way Out were being said live by The Rock backstage, right before he came out. Only "Its cookin'!" was used in later versions of the theme. www.youtube.com/watch?v=nU8EmLeciR8 - The debut version at No Way Out 2003 www.dailymotion.com/relevance/search/the%2Brock%2Bwrestlemania%2B19/video/xlz4y_stone-cold-vs-the-rock-wrestlemania - Starts at 3:15, this is the one he used at Wrestlemania XIX and Backlash 03. www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIfYHOY1Gms&mode=related&search= - Later edit used in HCTP.

Yeah, the No Way Out one was great...I particularly enjoyed those live soundbytes, I've seen a few people on various boards actually wonder what he was saying in the last one but I think it was merely him replacing the "lalalalalalalallloooowww" he used to add on the end of "smell" with a take on the 20th Century Fox fanfare, to add to the whole "I'm a big shot movie star now" persona. Great stuff

I think this music got used in the Here Comes the Pain game for Rock.

As if he was giving lessons on how to say "smell-alalalalallloooowww" right

Yea that was the first version of his music which was refined then imo became perfect (ala Wrestlemania 19),which still to this day is my favorite tron/ music combination ever.

I just watched No Way Out 2003...ok I only watched the Hogan/Rock match from that event but too add my two cents in on his theme...I think he says...If ya Smellll la la la la la tongue...tongue....tongue...lalalalalalalaloooooooooow.....what the Rock,......Is Cookin"
This theme is a favorite of mine just fits the Hollywood Rock character perfectly

And this is only one reason why I will mark for the Rock for the rest of my natural life.
