Thanks for the Miracle Violence Combination video. But seriously, as big of fan of anything wrestling related as I am, I never heard of the O'days before this, never heard of 'em since. They must be busy back in Australlia with the kangaroos and black holes that planes fall into that take 'em to strange tropical islands. EDIT Wait, I think I figured it out!! The O'Days are THE OTERS!!!!

That back suplex was the balls
Was this the tag team title tournament that they won? I remember a bunch of unknown teams since they were going for the global thing. I think one match was Pillman/Liger vs. Benoit/Beef Wellington.

I think one match was Pillman/Liger vs. Benoit/Beef Wellington. I think it was, they were building up to Gordy & Williams Vs The Steiners All Match. Gordy & Williams had a pretty easy go of it with the "Aussie" Father and son team. (J.R. Kept Pumping up Father O'Day Like He was Ric Flair with the 20 years in the wrestling ring and he was a Aussie Champion)

I think one match was Pillman/Liger vs. Benoit/Beef Wellington. I had this taped and it was really cool. The Pillman/Luger vs Benoit/Wellington match stole the show. It was also my first look at Dean Malenko.

I remember this match. I also remember hearing from insiders back in the day that the father of the O'Days combo had some sort of ownership or executive rank in WCW, I don't remember the specifics. They were, by far, the most out-of-place team in that tournament. (And might I add that I miss these types of tag tourneys, minus the O'Days, but at least the idea was there to make it *seem* international.)
On a related note, The Steiner Brothers vs. Terry "Bam Bam" Gordy and Steve "Dr. Death" Williams was the *%$(* best series of U.S. tag team wrestling ever to be put inside a U.S. wrestling ring. There were three matches in the series that I saw, and there may have been more (I'm aware there were some at house shows, but I never saw those). I love how these two teams matched up and how it's such a great mix of high impact, stiff-looking shots with sure a pure level of technicality on both teams' part. If you're one of these 18-22 year old fans on the boards who appreciates real wrestling and it's a lost treasure of wrestling you're looking for, then find all three televised matches of Steiners vs. Gordy/Williams. I'm getting emotional just thinking about how much that "feud" meant after living in the age of wrestling hell for the past few years.
(Too bad as soon as crappers see "THe O'Days," they'll immediately just pass over this thread--heh heh.)

What a weird career it would be to watch 300-pound men beat the absolute dogcrap out of your father.

I remember this match very well. I'm a mark for all things Gordy, and the MVC was a definite favorite. I have this show on a tape somewhere.
