Yeah, it was neck problems right before the Invasion storyline took off. I think his last appearance was right around the time then-WCW owner Shane-o-Mac would sneak a different WCW talent and interfere in various matches. I think Blackman was wrestling Saturn and out of nowhere Lance Storm superkicked Saturn and gave Blackman the victory. This was also sequeway for Saturn to start saying the "Your Welcome" catchphrase and the intro of Moppy due to all the severe blows to his head.
I never understood why he was teamed up with Sexay because it never made sense except maybe to make them an odd couple for laughs. I never did laugh, by the way. This along with having him team with Trish in mixed tag matches was the equivalent of Goldberg allowing Goldust to place the blond wig on his head. Can you say jumping the shark?
I would much rather see Blackman switch roles with Holly in ECW and see him feud with CM Punk or Bobby Lashley.

I marked for Blackman when he was Hardcore Champion, he was damn awesome then. Plus he seems like a legit badass. and him whipping people with sticks was fantastical!

His original generic rock theme was one of my favorites, I always liked the guy, love to see him back one day (though I'm not sure of his health now)

The WWF Hardcore DVD had quite a lot of Steve Blackman matches in it. He was booked quite the badass. At least he can say he is one of the few people to ever jump of the tron.

loved Blackman as Hardcore champion. Loved him even more with his work in the film Tremors.
....seriously, TELL ME he don't look like Fred Ward.

Always liked him, the music is my favorite entrance music of all time. But I agree Blackman was charisma-impaired.

There is a note on Obsessed with Wrestling that says he is considering having the same treatment that Kurt Angle had, and possibly making an in ring return. We can only hope so

I miss Blackman.
Hopefully he'll be able to return... and in the process bring back a Hardcore championship division ;D

Didnt he have that one cool match with Ken Shamrock where they were surronded by cars? Was it called a...... Lions Den match? The match where they were in the oarking lot, surrounded by cars, and if I remember correctly, chains and other wrestlers, was the Iron Circle match. The Lions Den match was Shamrock's match, the way Taker has Hell in a Cell, it was the match he was hard as hell to beat in. Basically, they just made themselves a UFC style Octagon in the area next to the ramp. One of their matches was a Lion's Den Weapons match, which is just as it sounds: a Lion's Den match, but on a shelf on the top of the Den, there were random hardcore weapons scattered, like Blackman's eskrima sticks, a nunchucks, and a pair of sickles. Yes, they had actual, metal, capable-of-stabbing-a-man sickles in that match.
