- When MTV aired "High School Stories" in place of Wrestling Society X, the show scored a 0.9 cable rating, significantly higher than WSX ever drew on the network.
Gerweck.net.
I think their first episode did around that, didn't it?
Either way...looks like we may never see the finale...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Episode 1 – 1.0 Episode 2 – 0.7 Episode 3 – 0.5 maybe X stands for XFL, since their ratings did the same thing

Thats because MTV's demographic is lame, and they never advertised WSX. If they really wanted it to work they wouldve put ads in during Raw, Smackdown, TNA, and ECW.

To say that WSX is being kicked while it's down is to assume that it was ever up to begin with.

So during ECW they should run a commercial that says "Hey you! Do you hate the wrestling your watching? Watch WSX on a channel we cannot say because it's owned by a different company."

That's really sad. I was actually a big fan of WSX. I absolutely loved it, I felt like a little kid watching it, in a very, very good way.
Sure, it was over the top, completely insane, and filled with ridiculous explosions and dumb angles. But so what?
It was FUN.
And that's what I dug about it.

I feel sorry for the guys in it...because most of them were very entertaining.
Just everything else about the show sucked.

Or, MTV could've re-run it for four straight hours every Saturday like the crap shows "NEXT!", "The Hills", or "Rob & Big". MTV constantly shows nothing but crap, and I can forgive most of it, but I've never seen a bigger waste of television time than "Rob & Big". A skateboarder and some fat ass in a fake reality show, and neither one are charismatic? Waste of airtime.
Wasn't a big fan of WSX, but comparitively speaking, when held up next to the mindless, society-eating garbage that MTV puts on their network on a regular basis ("My Super Sweet 16"), I thought WSX might kinda work, actually. The average teenager (MTV's key audience) is technically, a moron, that will watch anything for 30 straight minutes if it has a bunch of colors, decent-looking humans, and spectacular behavior. It's terrifying for wrestling that WSX couldn't work inside of that environment.
MTV sucks, and that's why they lose money, have to lay off hundreds of people two months ago, and network's in trouble.
WSX failing on MTV might be a scary example of how wrestling will never again be cool. Most of those workers were great, at least in the context, plus, some of the best and brightest overall were involved (Hart, Evans, Tornado, Cabana, Lacey, Sydal, and many more.)
WSX might've kinda sucked. But MTV sucks about 900,000 times more. And that's why they're firing people, 'cause they can't pay the bills.

Actually WSX advertising during RAW wouldn't be a bad idea. I don't know if it was just local station stuff, but, I've seen ads for WCW and TNA during WWE shows over the years.

Yes, that also happened, but so did the commercials during Raw Homecoming on USA. Its very simple, you advertise through cable companies and not through USA network itself. It happens all the time.
