I couldn't find the thread I started months ago about the video game in development, Pro Wrestling X, so I figured I'd start a new one, because there were 2 tidbits in this week's newsletter that caught my attention.
Cool to see someone actually take notice of where the guys want to go with the project. And I'm excited to see the article in whatever magazine it may be.
Hmmmmm...intense...insane...and the PWX crew is based out of Canada...
I wonder who they could ever be talking about? ;D
1) Five months in a Week
*************************
So much happened this week. So much that I can't even talk about. We hit a pretty hard low and a few hours later hit an unexpected high. On one hand we've built the buzz on PWX to a pretty good level and people see opportunity (PWX will be featured in a gaming magazine on newsstands in May!) but on the other hand people know we're an indy outfit without
major funding so they smell blood in the water. So far, we've seen nothing but 100% honest offers to help us bring our
vision of PWX to the fans and one surprise offer of more money to get it done. Well, that offer was a surprise to me but not really a big surprise to a certain Super "guy" who greased the wheels
in advance for me. At a time when it would be easy for people to take advantage of us we've instead seen new levels of support, help, and great advice.
"Living the dream" indeed. Thanks man ;-)
FYI, I showed an early version of PWX on a nice big screen hdtv in a meeting this week and it looks pretty slick! One of the highlights of that meeting was when someone from this other company played the demo and listened to our design plans. His feedback? "I don't want to sound too excited here
but...these guys waxING GET IT!" And he went on to compare our potential to Virtual Pro Wrestling 2 and No Mercy?! I swear I've never seen this guy before in my life and I didn't slip
him any money on the way into the meeting! But wow, I just sat back and let this total stranger sell PWX to his colleagues even better than I could have. I was shocked that this guy actuallyknew of Virtual Pro Wrestling 2 and then pleasantly shocked again that he played our demo and saw similar potential. Big shoes to fill but what better problem to have?
The PWX is crew is working hard and more focused than ever after this week. It'll be a while before we can announce with any certainty what our final publishing plans are for PWX but we
have a much clearer picture now and a more focused strategy. The guys have something to prove, too. Despite the excitement and buzz the cold hard facts are that we are
still a brand new developer with no published titles on our resume. For any publisher or investor that's a risky
situation. I've done my part. I've helped build a buzz and bring money to the table. Now the crew has to prove they can execute the design and produce PWX. It's a
critical time in that regard. It's the one last thing we have left to prove.

2) First Lady of PWX
*********************
Being wrestling fans for a long long time and being immersed in it
seven days a week working on PWX makes it pretty hard to get too excited about anything anymore. We've seen it all from
five star Puro, flawless Lucha precision, to CZW death match brutality. But we got a dvd in the mail
yesterday from a lady that shut down production as soon as Darrell brought it up on his monitor.
Everyone stopped what they were doing to watch this woman in action. She's intense, she's
insane, and she's incredibly easy to believe when she's in the ring. We've spoken with her a few times about helping out with PWX in some way and after having our own little fan fest for her
in the studio yesterday we can't wait to work with her in whatever way we can.
I can't wait to announce who she is and how she'll be helping. Soon I hope!
