that does NOT follow wrestling does not believe for one second that either man will get their head shaved.
My mom just called about 20 minutes ago and asked what the noise in the background was and I told her a wrestling match on TV (watching Hogan vs Rock) and SHE BROUGHT UP the Donald Trump angle. Let me mention that she is 51 years old, is an accountant at a bank and enjoys reading, gardening, knitting and her grandchildren.. the farthest from a wrestling fan you could imagine, so the promotion they have done for this match is magnificent. Anyway, she doesn't believe that anyone will leave with their head shaved. She said "wrestling can get away with that because everyone knows it isn't real. Someone will stop them before it happens and they'll pretend like they are disappointed that it didn't happen afterward."
My cousin, who though not a wrestling fan will undoubtedly be here on Sunday for the alcohol and just to chill, he also believes that there will some screwjob that prevents anyone from leaving bald. He said they will put something on their head, anything.. but he doesn't expect it to happen.
The local radio station DJ was talking about Miss America the other day and Trump got brought up. All 3 or 4 guys in the studio agreed that it would end with both men's "hairpieces" intact.
With that said, how can you convince people to buy it for the hair vs hair match when it seems (to me anyway) that a good number of them don't believe it will even happen?

Vince, by making a joke of himself and his own storylines brough this to him.
Even if someone does shave their head, people will still be calling it all "fake".

Oh, I think it's an April Fool's joke. I'm suspicious like that.

My mom (38) said her piece about it by saying this (sarcastically, mind you):
"Do you REALLY think Trump is going to let his head be shaved?"

I think Vince is getting shaved. He's crazy enough to do whatever it takes to make the fans happy, whether you agree with him sometimes or not. He's willing to do anything to make his product good.

I absolutely believe Vince will get his head shaved, I'd bet money on it-he has to, Trump will look like a fool on his show with his head shaved, it's for charity and you can't screw the general public after all this buildup

I follow wrestling and know how far Vince is willing to go to put his product over (for good and bad). But, they aren't looking to capture "our" buy, the one that was all but guaranteed before the card was even announced. They are looking to market this to people who follow celebrity follies, the mainstream public, hell, even Donald Trump has a cult fanbase out there. They want THAT buy. The people who seem to be unconvinced that someone is leaving bald.

Rofl, my dad (who I rarely talked to) called me up about it just a few minutes ago.
Dad: When's this gonna happen? Tonight? Me: No, this Sunday at Wrestlemania Dad: Is that Pay Per View? How much is it? Me: I'm not sure, about forty to fifty bucks. Dad: ... What a jip.

The fact that the match is over hair to begin with, shows the masses that "wrestling is stupid". I just wish there was another stipulation in place of this one. Like a loser leaves and never ever come sback stip? That would be good.

Like a loser leaves and never ever come sback stip? That would be good. Yeah, but then Umaga would have to win, and Trump would never agree to have his head shaved. It's not that I hate Lashley, it's more that I really like Umaga. That, and I hate Lashley.

The people who seem to be unconvinced that someone is leaving bald. I agree completely that they want the casual buy from people not necessarily into wrestling. But my question is, what happens when Trump is the one who doesn't get his head shaved? The buzz surrounding this whole match in non-wrestling circles is Trump losing his silly hairdo. That's what everyone wants outside of wrestling circles. The average joe doesn't know or care about Vince McMahon, and certainly won't bat an eye over him being bald. To the non-wrestling fan, Trump is the heel they want to see lose. What's going to be the reaction when/if he doesn't? I think WWE has kinda painted themselves into a corner publicity wise.

I dunno, even the casual fans they pick up from the PPV will want to tune into RAW the next night because they KNOW Vince will be there, Donald most likely wont be seen again on Raw

I say Vince McMahon will win and Donald Trump gets his head shaved. Then just to make the fans happy, Stone Cold will stunner Vince and shave his head as well. Everyone leaves happy.

Good idea, but that means lashley would have to job, don't see that happening, BTW why in the hell would they job Umaga on 2 ppv's in a row, and then put him in a match like he's unstoppable? what if he loses on sunday? will this really screw him up?

this is good if WWE does a great buy, and happens to win a couple of fans with the cool ladder match, then i'm all for this.
It's got people talking, and that's all that matters.
Umaga lost to John Cena after being almost choked to death with use of the ring ropes, the other time he lost it was to a rollup from a desperate Cena.
He still looked unstoppable after the matches, as John Cena was the one who looked dead after both.

They're coming for the sizzle (Billionaires) and they're also gonna get the steak (MITB, Cena/Michaels, etc).
It's a win-win for the WWE in this situation, especially because a billionaire WILL BE SHAVED BALD! I'd bet a small fortune on it, if I had a small fortune. If it's Trump, then some people will be satisfied with the sizzle but the steak will just add on.
