The last Nitro. Seriously, seeing Shane O Mac show up on Nitro while Tony Schvone and company were doing commentary was just surreal. Itll never happen again where Vince will be on both Nitro and Raw at the same time. I dont think it can get any bigger than that.

And if you would have told me even two years prior that Jim Ross would be the last voice ever heard on a WCW broadcast, I'd tell you you were nuts.

The Montreal Screwjob.
That was really the beginning of a new era, because it was the birth of Mr. McMahon. Shawn Micheals as the top heel (with DX, the real preview of Attitude) and it really broke kayfabe (which forced the WWE to acknowledge certain backstage stories). It was also THE chance for WCW to turn Bret Hart into the biggest face ever and that could have kicked WWE's ratings down even more. Because people wanted to see Bret's reaction.
It also led to some familiair WWE names leaving. Bulldog and Neidhart. The screwjob got Owen over big time. Without a clear number one face, Austin was able to take that part and really grow with two strong heels against him (first DX, still hated for the Screwjob) and later Mr. McMahon (heel because of the screwjob).
The Attitude-era has only benefited from the Montreal Screwjob. And without it, Attitude would have been very different. And if WCW would have been without the ego's, they too could have used it to their advantage.

Either Wrestlemania 1, 3 or when McMahon bought WCW

WM III should be disqualified, because if you remember correctly, the show started at 4PM ET.
WrestleManias used to start in the afternoon. I forget when they finally started them in the evening. Was it WM X or XI?
I would say Thanksgiving 1987 was the biggest night. Starrcade and Survivor Series happened and Vince showed the whole world, "I rule PPV."

I don't think that you can class one night as being the greatest night in wrestling.
Wrestlemania 3 was BIG as it put wrestling on the map and gained millions of fans overnight all around the world.
Bash at the Beach 96 caused heads to turn again with Hogan becoming a heel. People who had lost touch with wrestling over 92-96 tuned in again.Competition begins.
The Montreal Screwjob was an important time for both companies as a sign that competition between WCW/WWF was to take a massive jump.
Vince buying WCW was a massive moment but it killed competition causing loads of fans to turn away again.
I can see this Wrestlemania to be a big moment as it has the ability to get people to tune in again. Old fans will want the Undertaker to keep his record (why im tuning in) and the worldwide publicity of Donald Trump will have the 'non-fan' interested. Who knows it could springboard something big.

The first Wrestlemania made wrestling mainstream with all of the celebrities it had.
