Id like to see a bitter rivalry between RVD and Punk. That could be something special, IMO. Id also like to see an intense Edge/Taker feud I guess that would be cool, but personally I'm tired of sneaky heel vs. Undertaker or any sneaky heel vs face feud for that matter. The two Mania main events are at least different in that respect.

JBL/Eddie was the last blood fued in WWE, and it rocked because everything felt so real and you felt like they hated each other from promos, segments, pull apart brawls.
it was awesome then the matches were all bloody and violent.
Actually Rey Mysterio/Eddie was pretty dark too.
hmm...

I agree with this topic a lot. We need a feud like Beniot Vs Kevin Sullivan, they fought like a man caught his wife cheating on him and the guy was like "there's a wrestling ring right there if you wanna settle this". All jokes aside, we need something that caters to the older wrestling audience instead of just boobs that I can see in porn ya know. Bloody fueds are the way to go. If not bloody, then feuds where mind games are more than just stare downs.

I was watching the Foley/Edge/Lita vs. Funk/Dreamer/Beulah match from One Night Stand last night and it got me thinking...Edge is a main eventer...but Funk and Foley are two semi-retired has-beens essentially, albeit two has beens who are among my favourites...and they put on one of the best WWE-related matches I've seen in years. So where the hell is that kind of intensity now?
I'm not suggesting everything be full of barbed wire. But back in the day, rivalries used to go from stage to stage. A few normal matches, then maybe a cage or a No DQ, or a Street Fight. Nothing really goes anywhere.
You're right. We need something bloody. Something that's really, really about hatred. Honestly I think we should have Benoit vs. Chavo/Mysterio over forsaking Eddie's death in such a way. That would be a proper bloody feud...

Long feuds are great if done right. Unfortunately for many guys in the WWE (especially Matt Hardy), WWE Creative is not that creative. As a result, you see guys facing each other for 10 shows and 2-3 PPVs in a row with little to make them truly interesting towards the end. As a result, most long WWE feuds, much like bad sex, end in a whimper instead of a big climax.
