I've been hearing talk lately about Trish being overrated in her ring work, and was fortunate to be surrounded by lack of other female talent, and was able to make half-decent ring work look like a young Fabulous Moolah.
Your thoughts? Personally, I thought she was good. Not great, good.

Yes, very overrated. She was good, but she was not as good as her reputation makes her out to be.

She was the Cena and the Triple H of the women's division with 1/4 of the talent.
She was good at one time, but that was also during the time that others were great.
Towards the end, she wasn't even decent.

Towards the end, she wasn't even decent. I think you hit it on the head. Trish's ability really depeneded on the ability of her competition. When she was in the ring with Victoria or Jazz, of course she looked excellent, because being in the ring with good wrestlers makes you better. But when you stick her in there with generic set of boobs #333, of course she's not gonna look good.

The thing about Trish was how drastically she improved. She was friggen terrible and you could tell she waws working very hard to get better and she did. She still wasn't great by any stretch, but she went from god awful to decent, so I will say not overrated.

She was good, but not all time great by any stretch. But for what WWE wants, she was spectacular.

She was pretty good in the ring, but she was pretty overrated when it comes to her ring work. and I liked Trish when she was around.

I think that Trish was the best total package of looks, ability, and character that had been seen in either WWF/E or WCW in the modern era. Yes, she did botch a good deal of spots, but she did things that hadn't been seen from a woman wrestler in many, many years.

Besides, how much did one really expect from women's wrestling in the "E" before Trish made it not suck?

Trish had as many good spots as bad, but the good ones are generally a reminder of how far Trish has come as a wrestler.

She could bring out the best in her opponents if they were good wrestlers, and she knew what to do, but her abilities are still given FAR too much credit.

Overrated? Probably.
Most Improved? Definitely.

Alright, it's time for the monthly "Is Trish Overrated" discussion! I stand by what I have always said... she was decent in the ring, but her charisma and mic skills more than compensated for her technical shortcomings. I love Molly as much as anyone else here, but her charisma/personality was probably a third of Trish's.
Trish was one half of my favorite feud of 2006, and I think she has earned the recognition she gets.

She was not overrated. How've the women's matches been lately, by the way?

She wasn't ... bad, but I've never enjoyed her. She was sort of the female John Cena - all gimmicky moves and poses.

She wasn't terrible. At least she worked hard when she didn't really have to. That's all anyone can really ask of her.

She wasn't terrible. At least she worked hard when she didn't really have to. That's all anyone can really ask of her. Ultimately, I appreciate effort over skill. I can appreciate a mediocre wrestler that works hard all the time far more than an amazingly talented wrestler that doesn't give a damn.

She was good, but I'd put her behind Gail Kim,Molly, Ivory, and Jazz in terms of skill

I chose yes if you try to compare her to Moolah. That's not correct. Moolah, who wasn't neccessarily a looker (she wasn't ugly) took a lot of damage to her mug and body over the years but she was highly skilled in the ring. Trish, while she improved over the years learned a few key moves but was overall still wrestling calender models (and was it Trish's fault or Mickie James' fault for the broken arm really?)

I think Trish was overrated in the ring and by her looks. Yes she is hot but not phenomenal. She was decent in the ring but she was the best that they had. I admit she was the best wrestler on WWE's roster.
